Hello fellow atheists! A little about me.....I am 26, from the midwest and was raised a christian from birth. During college, I enrolled in philosophy primarily to prepare for the seminary but little did I know that learning logic and rational thinking would lead me in the opposite intellectual direction! Thank goodness it did because I can take pride in the fact that I am now truly intellectually and ethically free! I am now taking steps to study medicine and make my new life meaningful, interesting and beneficial. I hope I get a chance to meet you all and discuss this interesting world we are all a part of!
Welcome!
Welcome truthandwisdom. When I saw the username, I thought you'd be a theist coming in here to preach. I dunno, the name seemed to fit that stereotype here. Good to see I was wrong. Look forward to having you here, it's a great site.
Just watch out for tank. He's a twilight fanboy.
Great intro, welcome aboard
Hello truthandwisdom
Welcome to HAF :)
Regards
Chris
Hello, good evening and welcome
Thank you all for the welcomes! I am not able to post during the day as I am working full time and taking night classes .....so I'm sorry for the delay. Ihateyoumike, I understand the confusion but, after all, theists in my book are least concerned with the truth and more with comfortable delusions. :-\
Hiii, T&W. Good to see college has helped you slither away from the lies of theology.
Welcome to HAF~

Though if you look at Tank's post frequency, you might doubt this statement.
Welcome.

Ok, it's not a competition he can win. Better? :D
Welcome! ;D
Thank, er, god for college. Theism just doesn't make sense after studying history, literary criticism, philosophy or any branch of the sciences. In fact, I'm not sure how anyone can reconcile theism with academic pursuit of any kind.

I agree, thus why you see very few actual scientists who believe in a god(s.)
Welcome! ;D
Haha, I hope it is not a competition! I am a little disappointed that I need so many posts before I get to contribute to some threads. There are so many threads that I would like to add my two cents to.... :-\
We've just lowered the miminum from 50 posts to just 10, once you enter in a conversation or two here or in the Laid Back Lounge you'll reach 10 in no time.
Hearing from new people keeps things interesting :)

Only 7 posts to go now ;D
Oh cool! I am mostly interested in science and ethics, so I was bummed but 10 is not much at all.
11 posts now! ;D
