Title: For east coast residents: did you feel the earthquake?
Post by: Sweetdeath on August 23, 2011, 09:46:36 PM

A 5.9 earthquake hit near Richmond Virginia today.

I was at the gym, but I didn't. I live  in nyc, but all my dc/maryland friends were texting.

I couldn't make any out going calls for 40 minutes x_x

I'm about 90 miles north of you... I didn't feel it. Apparently people felt it pretty well in Mass., my mother-in-law claims she felt it one town south of us.

A whole 5.9?  That's simply a burp us Angelino's stop and think to ourselves, "Was that an earthquake or did a car just hit our tree in the front yard?"  In all seriousness, hope no one was hurt.

Lol, well i'm glad it wasn't a big quake!
And yeah, no one hurt or killed. Just some property damage from collapsed chimmenies and cars crushed.

Charleston WV, didnt feel a thing here. Some of my co-workers claim to have felt a slight vibration, but I think they imagined it.

I suppose it is much like our rain days compared to the east coast.  I know when it begins to sprinkle here in L.A., people panic and everyone drives ultra slow and cause MORE traffic than necessary.

I was just on the VA/MD line driving in my car when it hit, and wouldn't you know it, I didn't notice a damn thing! I felt very left out.
