I'm new around here, and I guess you all want me to introduce myself.
Well, I'm Bekki, and I'm fifteen. Since I was twelve I've been in a world of religious confusion...I couldn't figure out if I was Mormon [which my mom is], Jewish [dad..liberal Judaism, mind], Christian [my aunt is one of those psycho evangelicals who would still stone people for God if it wasn't invalidated by Jesus' "coming"]. I was pretty close minded to the idea that there wasn't a God at all.
This spring though, it kinda hit me. I started thinking...what if there really is no god? What if this is all nonsense? I always had figured that there just had to be a god, or we wouldn't be good people. Now that I'm an Atheist, I see how ridiculous that that idea is. As far as morals go, I haven't really changed. I'm not perfect but I'm not out eating children, as my sister would suppose. We haven't really talked than to argue since I "came out". (Thats what it felt like. I could've told them I really did eat children and got the same response.)
Well, I guess thats it.
Loves,
Bekki
Welcome to the forum, Bekki! My first impulse is to ask you how your parents ever even got together, given their disparate religious beliefs. But I won't ask.
As a young person asking important questions regarding life, truth, and meaning, I appreciate that you've taken the time to come here and participate. Feel free to ask, challenge, and write whatever you think of. One thing I can guarantee is that you will receive honest, heartfelt answers. No BS that I know of.
Glad to have you on board!
Welcome to the forum, Bekki! I can only hope that my son is enlightened in 8 more years when he's your age. As McQ stated, be sure to join in where you see something that grabs you... we love to discuss and share here, even when we don't agree. :-)
Thanks guys!
And McQ, no worries, my parents were in the military.
And drunk. Very, very drunk (Mormons don't believe in drinking...she wanted to see for herself what it was all about. Well, at least shes honest...)
They could have been kicked out for infidelity had the army found out...so marriage, here they came!

Wellcome Bekki!!
You sound very genuine.
I think you might enjoy this forum. No one eats children here. Okay, one guy does, but it's a little sporadic, and the rest of here will watch out for you! ha ha! i'm kidding.

Welcome, Bekki!
Wow, kids sure grow up fast these days!
Glad to have you aboard, Bekki! I'll try to watch my language.
Yay! Someone nearly as young as me!

I turned Atheist when I was 13, though...
But yeah... Welcome!
Gothspeed!
Hello Bekki. I'm pretty new here myself but all of the people I've encountered thus far have been highly intelligent, friendly & accommodating (with the exception of myself - I'm a thick git) so I'm sure you'll be in your element.
Tara.
LOL Steve-no worries. I often get comments that I act twentish, trust me, it's weird when it happens. People telling me that, I mean. Complimentary, but weird.
And I'm glad help tuna. :)
Oh I don't. Hence the 'git' part.
Hi Bekki - welcome!

Yeah, I only tried eating a child once - too salty for me. I never swallowed, didn't like it, and never tried it again.
Welcome! I had to go read the whole thing after seeing this part cause I was thinkin' "What the hell, are we eating kids now?"
I'm twenty six and never been able to put into words what you did in your introduction. And BRAVO for coming out...I'm still too freaked out to tell anyone in my mormon family.
Welcome! ...and yay - another person from Oregon! We rule!
