I have the what's your top 5 conversation pretty often, and it's been a while since I was so obsessed with a movie that I watched it like 30 times without watching a different movie in between. Like these ones:

1. A Few Good Men
2. Pulp Fiction
3. The Boondock Saints
4. Braveheart
5. The Big Lebowski

Other good ones:
Hot Rod
Tommy Boy
Dumb and Dumber
Both new Batman movies
First two Spiders-Man
Anything with Edward Norton usually
same for Robert Downey Jr lately. Irons-Man, Tropic Thunder, and even Sherlock Holmes was pretty good.
The Truman Show
V for Vendetta
40 year old virgin
office space
shawshank
eternal sunshine
the usual suspects
the bourne trilogy

I'm not even gonna try to list 'em all, but here's a few...
(and you've all picked some awesome ones - good thing I don't have netflix)

Silent Running
Being There
Star Wars 4,5,6 (the original ones, not the director's re-imagining, enhanced, suped-up, Han-didn't-shoot-first version)
Brazil
Princess Bride
Blade Runner
Superman 4 (ok, not really - just seeing if you're paying attention!)
Buckaroo Banzai
MST3k (all of 'em, and any really bad movie for that matter)

Why does every other one begin with "B"?  Not sure really...
JoeActor

p.s. too many to list...

Awesome additions. I almost put Silent Running on mine because I remember loving it so much. But having not seen it in so long, I hesitated adding it. And Joe, the MST3K inclusion is excellent. I concur.

I must confess I've been avoiding this, somehow it's seemed overwhelming trying to dredge up all my fav flicks.  But now everyone's basically said all of mine...so this will mainly be rehash.  I won't go into them all, but some of my top are:

The Razor's Edge
The Fisher King
Some Like It Hot
The Fellowship of the Ring (the other two departed from the books FAR too much for a Tolkien purist like myself.
The Empire Strikes Back
The Princess Bride
The Life of Brian
The Holy Grail
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles
History of the World, part 1
The Sixth Sense
Coffee & Cigarettes
A Beautiful Mind
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Snatch
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
the new Star Trek
the first new Bond, Casino Royale
Fight Club
The Caine Mutiny
The Matrix
The Third Man

And many, many others, I'm sure.

Some I didn't list previously and some from the list that I hadn't seen before but really liked.

Alice in Wonderland (the new one)
Aliens
Abyss, The
Blazing Saddles
Brazil
Children of Men
Dark Crystal, The
Edward Scissorhands
Equalibrium
Ghostbusters
Grosse Point Blank
Hard Candy
Hunt for Red October, The
Invasion (AKA - Top of the Food Chain)
Iron Man
Last Unicorn, The
Leon: The Professional
Man Who Knew Too Little, The
Office Space
Orphanage, The
Pan's Labrynth
Princess Bride, The
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves
Secret of NIMH, The
Serenity
Shaun of the Dead (correct spelling)
Snatch
Stargate
Terminator 2
Twelve Monkeys
Young Frankenstien

As a suggestion for alphabetizing the list, when I worked in a video store, movies that started with "The" weren't put in the 'T' section because most people ignore the "the" when looking for a movie by name... at least here in the U.S.. So the title in the computer for like "The Secret of NIMH" is entered as: "Secret of NIMH, The" so that it goes under the 'S's instead of the 'T's. Anyway, just a suggestion.

Number one favorite film would have to be Fight Club.

I love anything psychological like that.  Just off the top of my head...

12 Monkeys
American History X
Avatar
The Big Lebowski
The Dark Knight
The Godfather (goes without saying)
Lord of The Rings
The Matrix (Which had NO sequels, I don't care what your conspiracy theories say!)
Pirates of The Caribbean.
Shutter Island
Silence of the Lambs
V for Vendetta
The Watchmen
And there are those few directors that I loved everything they ever did, so add to that list Anything by Quentin Tarantino, Hayao Miyazaki, or David Fincher! ~ Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Inglorious Basterds, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Fight Club, Se7en, The Game, etc. it just goes on and on...

Too many! I always FAIL at the 'Desert Island' game, because I can barely narrow it down to 15 movies, let alone 3!

In no particular order of favour:

K-Pax
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

Le Professionnel
Der Untergang
Pitch Black (And The Chronicles of Riddick)
Green Mile
Resident Evil (Movie series. Like them as fan of the games)

There are more, but I'm lazy, so let's call that it, shall we?

Not so much with him as with him in that particular role.

Too much of the poor-little-me-the-martyr in his acting to suit me.

My most favorite movie ever is Pride and Prejudice (the 2005 version, and not the one with the stupid US ending). I watch this movie at least twice a month, usually more.

Other favorites that I watch more than a normal person should:

• The Harry Potter series
• The Indiana Jones series
• The Pirates of the Caribbean series
• Batman Begins & The Dark Knight
• Iron Man & Iron Man 2
• The Lost Boys
• Disney's Fantasia
• Sherlock Holmes (2009)
