I thought about starting a thread about this some hours ago but what can you say beside wow?
I saw some footage of a surge of water with a burning building on top of it, understandable but weird.
There have been a few big natural disasters around here lately, New Zealand's earthquake the most recent.
Anyway my thought's are with them, not that it makes a difference.

For that very reason, MY thoughts are not with them. I might, however, consider a small donation to the Red Cross
Over a thousand said to be dead. They were all punished by god......can you pick up on sarcasm via text? And furthermore, is it wrong for me to be sarcastic at such a dire time? The National Inquirer needs to know!

Not in the way you put it here - as a simple statement of "fact".

Not in my book. Although on an average sensitivity meter, my book is emotionally bankrupt
One reactor exploded and another reactor with cooling troubles. Not a good day to live in North Eastern Japan.
It will be interesting to see what knock-on affects there are. When Khobe was hit the worlds largest maker of IC encapsulating resin stopped production. There was serious doubts if the electronics manufacturers around the world could find other supplies.
It's not being talked about on the news yet... but I don't see FEMA anywhere.
Is being talked about here, but I see no FEMA either
A very interesting twist to the plot... Two reactors out of control. A new Chernobyl, only in a less explosive way..? Still, if any one can handle that, it's the Japanese.
I wish them well

Well that's the image anyway, but what happened to the fail-safe design? It's not as this is a wholly unforeseeable occurrence.

Practice makes perfect and that particular design was probably never tested under those particular circumstances. Those reactors have survived earth quakes before though, yes? And were still kicking until recently... And they are very unlikely to go skyward in a mushroom cloud of radioactive ash and dust.

Yes, yes and I hope not.

Well, those first two words are the testimony to the security measures actually doing their job under less extreme circumstances. However, designing something to surely tolerate a miniature armageddon is not an easy fit... And whether or not those reactors have failed that test is the exact question being answered over there as we speak
