My name is Jester, I'm a 15 year old female currently residing in New York. I've been atheist my entire life, wasn't raised around any sort of religion, and have been free to make my own choices. Ever since I started thinking about it, I've concluded that it's impossible to submit to a higher power, though I certainly have no problem with religious folks nor their views, so long as it's not directly pushed on me. I try my best to be informed while participating in debates, but as I lack a religious background, I've had to find all the information on my own. Please feel free to correct me if I say something silly.
I'm an only child, living with my father. My mother is out of the picture. I have a dog and a cat, both of which are mixed breeds. I'm self-teaching Japanese, and aspire to be an English teacher in Japan, or a translator, depending on how my schooling goes. No worries, I'm not infatuated with Japan, I just really enjoy the language. I can understand Spanish, though I'm not very good at speaking it.
I listen to house, electro, drum and bass, trance (mainly hardstyle), and dubstep. I will occasionally stray to foreign music, though it's not my favorite (such as HTT, Aya Hirano, Miwa, and Secondtunez).
I have an abnormal obsession with cats. They're independent and have fantastic reflexes. I've heard from my father that trying to get atheists to think about something the same way is like herding cats. (Yes, my father is atheist as well.)
I'm the proud owner of a 500+ bottle cap collection, and growing. I actually started collecting them out of sheer laziness. Bottles would build up on my desk, and I'd unscrew the caps and throw them in an old hat. The cycle continues and my pile kept growing.
Anyways, I'd love to meet all of you!
Welcome aboard!
btw, I'm a fellow cat-lover too
Welcome. There seems to be a growing trend of teenagers joining the forum (I'm part of that club).
Thank you both!
Ah, good to see there's others! Possibly because our parents came from a generation that was more relaxed than the previous?
Not particularly. However, mine was.
Welcome to HAF
Welcome to HAF!
Nice to see a fellow New Yorker here, although I'm from up north, by Canada.
I hope you enjoy your time here.
HI Jester
Welcome to Happy Atheists.
Regards
Chris

But with less than 5 months to go now and then you'll have to start acting all responsible like the rest of us adults
