Title: Social experimentation
Post by: Byronazriel on February 25, 2011, 09:23:37 AM
I have decided, out of bordom and curiosity, to perform experiments which I will provide updates and commentary on.

They will mostly have to do with religion and spirituality, and I will take suggestions to mind.

For my first experiment I shall only refer to the god of Christianity as Mormon Jesus, and document people's reactions.

Any thoughts or predictions?  ;)

You should start your experiment on-line where causing serious physical harm is impossible. :D

According to Christians Mormon Jesus is the son of God, who is himself God... or something.

Mormon is a denomination of Christianity that believed Jesus came back and visited North America.

Almost all Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God and is also God...they call it the trinity (father, son, holy ghost).

If you refer to Jesus as "Mormon Jesus" they'll just think you are confused unless they happen to be Mormon.

Quite right.  It's just odd.

...It's not working, I can't find a way to naturally work it into conversations, and when I try to force it people just think I'm up to something.

Then again I AM the town weirdo.  :sigh:

Ideas anyone?

Try this: After finishing a conversation with someone, do the whole "father, son, holy spirit" hand motion the Catholics always do, regardless of what you are talking about. In fact, do it during the middle of the conversation too. If anyone asks - it's just a "nervous twitch"...heh heh  ;)
