At least according to this website (http://www.conservapedia.com/Atheism_and_obesity).
At first I was like "lolwut".
Then I read the post, and instantly thought "Conservapedia".
Then I went to the link, and saw I was right.
We should have a general Conservapedia thread. In fact, I'm hijacking this thread.
Quote from: "Conservapedia"Moral relativity is the wrongheaded idea that there is no absolute Right or Wrong, and that anyone can freely use his own conscience to decide what is moral. A moral relativist will not say that theft or murder is wrong, because he believes it is up to the murderer or thief to decide whether his behavior is justified.
Unsurprisingly, moral relativity is exclusively a liberal belief, as conservatives believe that God is the ultimate arbiter of Good and Evil:
"There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12)
Moral relativity and related foolish thinking is what allows liberals to support abortion, gay rights, and drug abuse. Moral relativity erodes principled self-defense and thereby leads to misguided demands for gun control as well as psychiatric problems resulting from a lack of mental self-defense.
While the idea of moral relativity exists independently of (and substantially predates) the scientific theory of relativity, moral relativists seized on the theory of relativity to legitimize their views. Historians such as Paul Johnson wrote about how the theory of relativity caused a sea change, justified or not, in 20th century thought. Due to this conflation, liberal professors heavily support the Theory of Relativity and try to use it to draw followers away from Biblical morality.
Pay attention to that last paragraph.
Oh, and look at this article. (http://www.conservapedia.com/Bisexual)
Quote from: "Conservapedia"Bisexual refers to a person with both heterosexual and homosexual desires. It is a lifestyle choice in direct conflict with logic and biblical teachings.
In direct conflict with logic...?
"You like both men AND women? Clearly you are an illogical person, as anybody with an ounce of logic in their skull only likes one gender. Duh."
Quote from: "Conservapedia"A 2003 poll done by Ellison Research of Phoenix, Arizona stated that 82% of all American Protestant ministers agreed with the statement “homosexuality is a choice people make".
Relevance...?
Quote from: "Conservapedia"The occultist Aleister Crowley was a bisexual and was dubbed in his lifetime "the most wicked man on earth". Aleister Crowley stated: "I was not content to believe in a personal devil and serve him, in the ordinary sense of the word. I wanted to get hold of him personally and become his chief of staff."
Look! Look! See? Proof that bisexuals are evil and in direct conflict with God's word!
I could do this all day. Almost every Conservapedia article is (unintentionally) hilarious. Seriously, just look up an article on their site and I'll bet you'll be laughing your head off.
Thanks for that conservapedia link, I know where to go now when I need a trustworthy encyclopedia.
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/hea_o ... th-obesity (http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/hea_obe-health-obesity)
That link lists countries by obesity, Norway Switzerland and Japan are the least obese, not particularly religious countries.
Quote from: "The Magic Pudding"That link lists countries by obesity, Norway Switzerland and Japan are the least obese, not particularly religious countries.
That site has a clear liberal bias.
There seems to be liberal bias everywhere nowadays. In fact, even the Bible has liberal bias! (http://www.conservapedia.com/Conservative_Bible_Project)
Conservapedia is the only place I trust for the real facts on things.

Yeh, go Fux Nius!
Now this chubby atheist thing has been proved, perhaps we could aim future pro atheist promotions more efficiently. Maybe adds on burger wrappers instead of buses.
And just look at those Buddhists, well not the Buddhists themselves, a lot of them seem pretty thin, but that bloody Buddha himself, no god for him and he's fat!

That's weird. I get the same message and I've been able to access the page before.
It's probably because you two are atheists.
Of course, I'm an atheist, and I can view the site, but that's besides the point.

Plus, I'm overweight too :hmm:
I'm not sure. Cecilie, what country do you live in?

LOL Norway?!
And here I though we were fat and lazy and onyl getting more fat and lazy.
Their page on skepticism is pretty funny too....
QuoteA skeptic is one who questions the validity of a position until shown to their satisfaction that the position is warranted. The nature of what can convince a skeptic will vary from person to person. One whose philosophy on life leads them to be a skeptic by lifestyle is said to practice skepticism.
The term "skeptic" is often abused in a religious context by atheists and agnostics, claiming there is insufficient evidence of God's existence but not being at all skeptical about their own atheistic beliefs for which there is no evidence at all.
"Doubting Thomas" in the Bible is an early example of a skeptic, as he did not believe that Jesus had risen until he saw Him with his own eyes and put his fingers in the wounds on Jesus' body.
And today's homepage article: Ponies vs. atheism. Ponies win! (http://www.conservapedia.com/Essay:_Ponies_vs._atheism_-_Ponies_win)
Quote"Unlike many Western World atheists, most ponies are not obese! Please see atheism and obesity"
For those whom it's not working for, is it giving you a 404 or a 403 error?
Hmmm... site comes up fine for me...
Must be my skinny little theist fingers.
Conservapedia is like a parody of a conservative wikipedia, I swear. In fact, it could possibly. This might be a great example of Poe's Law.
Wow. This site really is hilarious. I wonder if it's creators really beleived the stuff they were writing.
As far as fat atheists go...I'm 5'8 and weigh 135 lbs...soooo...
Quote from: "LegendarySandwich"Conservapedia is like a parody of a conservative wikipedia, I swear. In fact, it could possibly. This might be a great example of Poe's Law.
It's hard to tell but I don't think its founder Andrew Schlafly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Schlafly) is a Poe. I get the hunch it may have been intended to be genuine at first but since it is naturally collaborative a lot of Poes have been contributing to the material. There was a guy who quit because "enough was a enough".

I think you may be right about that. It just reads too much like a parody for me to easily accept that it's completely %100 genuine. I mean, ponies vs atheism? Really? That can't possibly be serious.
Of course, the people who contribute to that site could also possibly be
that stupid.
Quote from: "Sophus"For those whom it's not working for, is it giving you a 404 or a 403 error?
"403 Forbidden
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request"
And that goes for both Firefox and IE.
I did look up the wikipedia entry on this, and well. When people start to think that the current bible is filled with "liberal bias" and has to be re-interpretate to it's apparent "conservative roots"...should I cry, laugh, or cry because I laugh too hard?
When even the Bible has a liberal bias, this quote seems more and more true:
Quote from: "Stephen Colbert"Reality has a well-known liberal bias.
Quote from: "LegendarySandwich"Quote from: "Sophus"It's hard to tell but I don't think its founder Andrew Schlafly (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Schlafly) is a Poe. I would say that it most definitely has become a poe site....i remember when it was first issued and it was quite serious (yet equally hilarious).
of course, even as a poe, I bet that a lot of fundamentalists read it and think it is true....
I just registered an account. Now, time to be a Poe...
I was overweight in high school, and that was when I was de-converting. Still, post hoc ergo propter hoc.
This probably won't be a big shocker to anyone, but I made an account on Conservapedia, went to their Homosexual rights advocacy article, and added "There's no good reason to discriminate against homosexuals" to their list of reasons gay advocates use for supporting gay rights.
Guess what? My change was immediately control z-ed, and my IP address blocked.
I just had an idea. Every time you get access to free wifi, log on to Conservapedia and edit something. Every time you're using college wifi or McDonalds wifi or hospital wifi, edit a page and get the IP blocked.

lol
Quote from: "Sophus"Well, you're not a very good Poe, are you?
I was going to be a Poe, but for them to say that the only arguments gay rights advocates have is that you don't choose to be gay bugs me.

Does that block the whole site or just editing abilities?
Hmmm. I think this whole subject begs for a few satirical comments such as:
Have Flatulence? You Must Need Jesus!
and
Do you urinate? You might just be an atheist!
or even
Do you poop? It's because you think there is no God!
I'm going to stop now before this whole thing takes me into the accursed subject of menstruation and why all women hate snakes almost as much as they hate God. Oops already went there.....
Quote from: "LegendarySandwich"I'm not sure. Cecilie, what country do you live in?
Norway.
