Title: Hello Happy Friends
Post by: Ishkamina on August 04, 2007, 08:13:46 AM
Hello, My name is Kamina. I am a 25-year-old Preschool teacher in Beaverton, Oregon. I was raised Christian and suffered as a recovering Christoholic for most of my teenage years.

I have been a happy atheist for about three years now, and each year is getting better and better.  My husband and I share this in common, and we both love getting together at family events and being the only ones arguing on the side of atheism. They just can't beat the fact that the two of us have never been happier and we have never been in healthier relationships (I was shocked as a teen to find that atheists make much better friends). The family members are often struggling emotionally and turning to their god for answers, and it frustrates them that we can be so happy without a god. We happily chip away at their faith, only by honestly answering their questions.

Forgive me IPU for I have sinned, I admit that I did, only once, call my sister-in-law ignorant and stomp out of the room. I slammed the door to show just how serious I was but my arms are weak so I can only apologize for the intent. You would have done the same thing! She had the nerve to say that all scientists are only interested in proving their isn't a god. There is no other reason for science! Has your jaw dropped yet? Amen.
