Title: My name is Khalliqa
Post by: Khalliqa on December 05, 2010, 12:00:58 AM
A friend recommended the site..  and so I am here to browse..  read/learn and offer my opinion...

I am not an atheist, theist, deist or agnostic..  I seek understanding and wisdom wherever it is to be found and accept what is best within the confines of space/ time and what seems likely to survive as a positive addition to our human sojourn..

Welcome.  How would you define best and positive?  Also, do these words play into your definition of wisdom?

"Best" and "Positive" are contextual qualifiers..  They are relative and evaluated according to a particular goal...

And a "goal" is usually personal or collective..  A personal goal is determined by the subject and the collection of my personal ethics and proclivities..

A collective goal is determined by consensus..  I evaluate methods, events, words etc..  to determine whether it is in harmony with the goal..  and then I evaluate whether or not it is something that sits right with me personally..  My conclusion determines whether a stated method etc.. is best or positive relative to the goals..

Wisdom is judged probably by a pursuit's ability to lessen pain and suffering overtime..  and/or allow the development of talents, skills, and health for those involved..   in as much harmony as possible..

This is the best I can do to put it in words because without a homogeneous group any context is highly subjective..  and I would not be able to give a concrete definition..  so suffice it to say..  "wisdom is whatever I decide it to be at the moment.."  :-) lol

Might wisdom be characterized as the mental state of someone making a sincere attempt at balancing personal responsibility, self-actualization, benevolence, and fairness, grounded in complete and accurate data and valid logic?

I've used similar words in discussing other topics.

Hello and welcome.
Please continue your conversation with Droid as it is enlightening. I once thought that wisdom can only be had by people in the field of dentistry.
