Northern Ireland was many tough issues to address. In a similar situation- a riot broke out in a small area in Belfast and it seemed that most of the participants, like me, were born after the more serious incidents of the troubles had even happened.

I am unsure if prejudice is passed on to the next generation or is perhaps taught in schools.

Ask a Northern Irish Protestant if they would go to a Catholic school and vice versa, then maybe you will find your answer.
