Title: I'm an Angry atheist...
Post by: Ulysses on October 27, 2010, 01:30:48 PM
hey guys. I am an ardent atheist and am actively working towards promoting reason over faith because I believe that science has more to offer than myth and fable.

Recently I've been quite vocal about atheism because in my personal experience I have witnessed some rather tragic consequences to religion. I was an expat living in Asia, and I saw the effects of religious terrorist bombings in Jakarta first hand. Can you imagine a sea of broken glass and blood splattered on the street? - and for what??? Does god really require blood sacrifice to keep him happy???

I could go on, but I shall spare you. In the meantime, if you are interested i've started a blog which seeks to promote reason over faith, and later this year my first book about atheism will be available. so please check me out: http://god-proof.com/blog/ and please leave me a friendly comment.

peace

QuoteSpam is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, and sodium nitrite as a preservative. Spam's gelatinous glaze, or aspic, forms from the cooling of meat stock.

I don't get it -- what exactly makes this thread spam? Is it his promotion of his blog?

Hi Ulysses

The forum user agreement does make mention of posting links in one's first post. However the usual modus operandi of the spammer is to spam and run, which does not appear to be what you are about.

Welcome aboard

Regards
Chris

On the other hand, look how smug and happy and blood-sucking the grumpy Asmodean is!

Not that I disagree with blood-sucking, necessarilly... Or with smug... Or with... Aah, I give up! Good job on the heads

Note cricket bat in right hand.
And puddings regenerative ability.
And you would be on a spike if the agency hadn't sent me an Egor with no hands.

Welcome to the board

I am sorry for you to have to witness the events you share with us.

Religion is such a lightening rod for such atrocities.

I wouldn't be so complacent were I you.  It looks like Asmo has designs on your feet, too.  Perhaps that explains the uncharacteristic smile?

I don't think you understand the pudding.

QuoteThey had a delightful meal, eating as much as possible, for
whenever they stopped eating the Puddin' sang out

"Eat away, chew away, munch and bolt and guzzle,
Never leave the table till you're full up to the muzzle."

But at length they had to stop, in spite of these encouraging
remarks, and as they refused to eat any  more, the Puddin' got
out of his basin, remarking--"If you won't eat any more here's
giving you a run for the sake of exercise," and he set off so
swiftly on a pair of extremely thin legs that Bill had to run
like an antelope to catch him up.

QuoteAm I right in supposing that
there are onions in this pudding?"

Before Bill could reply, a thick, angry voice came out of the
pudding, saying--

"Onions, bunions, corns and crabs,
Whiskers, wheels and hansom cabs,
Beef and bottles, beer and bones,
Give him a feed and end his groans."

welcome.

i know many religious people aren't violent, but when you support religion, you foster violent behavior.
