I've recently become enamoured with Objectivism, and to a lesser extent Ethical Hedonism... Based almost entirely on the TvTropes uselful notes sections on them:

From what I've read of Objectivsm, it seemed to make a lot of sense... but then again just because something makes sense doesn't make it the truth, or even a good lie.
Literally all I know about Objectivism is what I've learned from TvTropes, and of course playing Bioshock.
Anyway, my question is: What are some good philosophies that I can learn more about? Also please include books that I can get a hold of, I rather like books and I've found it easier to understand things if I can read about them.
always like finding new and different ways of understanding/thinking.
Solipsism, dude! It works great.
It doesn't matter if the universe is real or not, the only thing that matters is that what you're experiencing is the only thing you can experience, so make it good.
How about Frisbeetarianism?

Solipsism sound like everything bad about both narcissism and hedonism... also it's fundamentally opposed to my beliefs.
As for the second one, it sounds nice I guess. Given all the cool stuff up there, at least you wuldn't get bored. Though this is really more of an afterlife theory than a philosophy.
Why don't you build your own?
Religions and belief systems seem modular these days.
Just borrow appealing aspects from existing systems.
If you make it appealing enough I might be your first convert.
Could be a chance to make some real money from your writing.
...I already do that.
