The human species has always been exceedingly good at two things - making tools and killing each other. When those two are brought together - we can make effective tools to kill each other - something we have always done and will, unfortunately, most likely continue to always do.
I'd say we have until the oil runs out 'til everything goes to shit. So, based on estimates 50-200 years. Enjoy it while it lasts, (un)fortunately we'll miss the new "dark" age.
