QuoteMohler said many people have written him to say they're simply doing exercises and forgoing yoga's eastern mysticism and meditation.

"My response to that would be simple and straightforward: You're just not doing yoga," Mohler said.
Oh look, it's another "No True Irishman" in action.

This is my favourite part:

"Southern Baptist Seminary President Albert Mohler says the stretching and meditative discipline derived from Eastern religions is not a Christian pathway to God."

Now that is quite a silly thing to say.

Them Southern Baptists probably think Middle East is to their west and thus, their religion is western  :D

S. Baptists churches are all over these parts and I still haven't seen God. I'm thinking their pathway isn't a pathway at all. More like a maze.

Oh, Christians just need to do what they've always done - integrate, bastardize, and claim as their own.

Yep.  Give them a few years, they'll be claiming they invented it, and have a whole list of babble verses to back up the claim.   :shake:

Apologies to our Christian members but this sort of thing is just bloody stupid, isn't it?

This is just further proof that most Christians are inflexible.

Get it?  :P

You know what I think happened? I think mister stick up the but was looking in on a yoga class full of young, flexable, lithe women and had totaly natural male thoughts and reponses. Since all natural thoughts and responses are bad and automaticly sinful, for some reason, he felt guilty. If he was guilty then everbody is guilty and so he continues the Christian art of making people feel guilty and shameful for feelings and thoughts that are not only natural but they have little control over.

Either that or he was looking FOR such a class, in order to have an excuse for looking, and all he could find that fit his schedule was fitness yoga classes full of fatties.
