I am totally STOKED today. I was watching CNN News and Views/Headline News and the "Issue of the Day" is the Freedom from Religion Foundations' Billboard Campaign where they are putting up billboards that proclaim that being an atheist is OK.
If you want to learn more, and I hope I'm not going against Forum rules here, but you can check out the FFRF at FFRF.Org and see the billboards. They are AWESOME!
I joined the FFRF about a year and a half ago after meeting Dan Barker, co-president of the Foundation, following a debate he had down in Detroit, Michigan. He's a former Evangelical Pastor who lost his religion in the 1980's. His book Godless is a real good read, and I recommend it for anyone who is just starting to question their belief in a god.
Anyway, I was stoked to see this, an ATHEIST issue, making it to the national news front. I was also amazed at how CNN handled it, they actually showed a LOT of atheist views up front, instead of posting a lot of Theist retorts. I was impressed and heartened by the report.
That sounds very god indeed!
Hurrah!
Their sister station, HLN, is doing the same. Maybe less eloquently.
Isn't his book
Godless, not
Goodless?
What did like... Fox News have to say about it..?

Well, maybe everyone else is polite enough to not make a stink.

Good spot Dave! Poop, Dave and I go back a long way and it wouldn't matter if it were a mistake or not. And I'm a terror for picking up typos and making them. I spent 8 years writing and copy checking catalogue copy so I spot lots of stuff. Sometimes comment too

Faux news coverage.
There's no "ue" in catalog.
It's good that CNN is apparently treating this objectively, but I don't care for the whole idea of billboards and crap. A good idea is a good idea, and a deep one doesn't suffer well the oversimplification implied by "billboardization".

There are a lot of people who wouldn't realize there are others like them if it were not for groups like this going out and using mass media print advertising such as billboards. Not to mention that getting atheistic ideas out there in front of the public gradually normalizes it so that being an out atheists will eventually not be that big of a deal.

Actually, catalogue is the proper spelling of the word. Catalog is just a commonly accepted shortening of the longer spelling.
Also, catalogue is the more common spelling in countries that use British English.

Right. I speak
real English.

Is all sarcasm considered trolling around here, or is it just you?
Frankly, I stopped taking you seriously right around the time you made a bunch of Jew jokes.

It is probably is just me, I have a very poor ability to spot sarcasm, but I'm sure as time goes by I'll get to understand your posting style.

I'm almost always being sarcastic in some way. I do like to get a rise out of people, but I generally don't overtly troll on serious fora (except for feeding the trolls in their own troll threads).

I shall keep this in mind when reading your posts, but you can be sure I'll not get it right all the time. Communication through the written word excludes 93%(?) 'ish of the total available communication path of two people talking face-to-face. I tend to say what I think with as little obfuscation and confusion as I can and I tend to read people as though they were me doing the same thing which leads to crossed wires at times.

Of course not. When you do, I'll get snarky. Nothing personal, old bean.

I'm likely autistic, so cut that in half.

I tend to read that way, so no worries.
