Glad I found you.
My name is Chris and I have been an atheist as long as I can remember. I had no religious upbringing. My parents were part of the you-decide-when-you're-grown-up cult that was big in the '70s. I went to a variety of schools that did have a religious foundation, but luckily religion was optional. I learned to think for myself, solve my own moral dilemma's and learn to live with my mistakes and shortcomings.
I hope to take part in some lively discussions and to enjoy a lot of different views on (a)theism

Hi Chris
Welcome aboard. Are you in the USA or somewhere else?
Regards
Another Chris

Is it just me or are there a lot of people named Chris on here? Anyways... Welcome Chris!
Chris is a very good name I'll have you know
Thanks for welcoming me.
I did not know there were so many people named Chris on this forum... Then again would not a rose by any other name smell just as sweet?
As for location: I live in Gouda in the Netherlands. Think cheese

Any ideas on the best discussions on the forum?
I love the Netherlands, seriously I'd love to live there. It's about the most laid back place I have ever visited.
What do you like to discuss? Our latest Christian member is jac3510, he has a few interesting threads. You can always tell us about yourself or ask us questions
Hi Tank,
Wanna live here? The most interesting thing on TV last night was a door (no really!)
Well, you've probably seen my signature. I [strike:323gw1f1]believe[/strike:323gw1f1] think that is an interesting discussion. Normally the discussion is "no god" vs "the god".. I find it interesting to find out if there are people that agree with me when I say: "If there is
a god... there must be (a lot) more of them"

A there any threads on that?
Chris
I think this one should keep you usefully occupied for a while viewtopic.php?p=79574#p79574 (http://www.happyatheistforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=79574#p79574)

Welcome Chris, but you need to put that smoke out.

Well you did ask
Mmmmmm gouda! Nom nom nom... Also, welcome!
@pinkocommie thanks for welcoming me. I'll be sure to go to your blog.
It looked interesting on the first glance. I'll take a second glance soon.
btw. the commie-part I get. The pinko-part on the other hand... ?
The Communist party of Russia were called Reds. Someone who is not a Communist but is sympathetic to Communism is called a Pinko. This used to be a term of derision but many liberals have claimed it proudly. I am a CommyPinkoLiberal myself.

There must be some test on the internet to determine where I would be in your political spectrum... Here in the Netherland I would be considered economical right with left-wing humanist views (some would call that liberal, but our liberals are considered right wing)... Essentially I'd land somewhere in the Dutch middle. That would be extremely left wing in the states I guess. We even consider Obama to be right-wing
Hello from a far-right liberal democrat :P

Aunicornist

I had to google your world view... Am I correct to assume it is the flying spaghetti-monster theory you are biased to.
And remind me... we've met? Asmodean does ring a bell... but I've got the memoric capacity of a fruitfly.
Met notself who your reply was directed to right here on these forums :D

In Australia the conservative party is called the "Liberal" Party, it's kind of Orwellian.
I refer to them as conservative here to avoid confusion.
It is funny hearing them talk of the Republicans admiringly, but the Republicans use liberal as a slur delivered with a derisive sneer.
