Oh for the love of Jeff. Hitchens is a man in his 60's who smoked heavily for a good chunk of his life. God isn't trying to make him humble - smoking effing causes cancer. For everyone.

It might be interesting to see Peters thoughts on his brother's condition. Peter is as theistic as his brother is atheistic, I wonder how this is effecting Peters world view?

Have you read any of Peter Hitchens' Daily Mail diatribes? The man is an upstart at best and a snivelling pompous twat at worst. I wouldn't be surprised if he thought his brother was being punished by god for turning his back on him. There's a reason those two haven't spoken for years. Quite simply, Peter is an idiot.
He's as contemptible as Piers Morgan in my opinion.

I dont know why all of these theists are hoping for a deathbed conversion. A death bed conversion is not evidence of anything. There are several laws about last minute death bed changes to people's wills because in the throws of death and extreme pain people become desperate and sometimes dillusional. Even if it were proof that there is a god, What does it say about their god? You can see American policy in action when you look at christianity. They worship a god who will torture in order to gain worship so why wouldn't they be ok with torturing confessions out of prisoners?
