Title: Another newb
Post by: Katieâ„¢ on July 30, 2010, 10:52:27 PM
Hey everyone, Im Katie from Wisconsin. I never really believed in a god, despite being raised Lutheran. I did get forced through the motions of one though, including confirmation and such. I think my parents thought that confirmation classes would be great since I never took the church seriously. Too bad it just pissed off the Pastor because I never stopped asking "why" and "how". Ah well, they should have seen it coming since I was a tiny sunday school drop out too. Anyways, looking forward to getting to know everyone.  :D

QuoteI was a tiny sunday school drop out
It's time the sunday school dropouts were paid their due.
Who else has been able to gain access to the christian indoctrination process and ask the hard questions?
How many of the faithful had their belief shaken, by simple questions from innocent faces?
why did he kill all those people?
why did he kill all those animals?
how come other people have different gods?

Welcome Katie, and please accept this holy/imaginary tee shirt:
“Sunday school dropouts
We were doing it before Dawkins”

Pfft, I thought I was the resident grumpy guss.  I've always said grumpy guss.  It the saying really grumpy guts?  That's far less adorable sounding...

A quick internet search tells me 1 - you may be right about the US vs. UK wording and 2 - it means the exact same thing regardless.  Grumpy Gus seems like a grumpy person in the same way a negative Nellie would be a negative person.  Grumpy guts sounds like a term for a tummy ache.  Like - 'Ach!  I shouldn't have had that burrito, it's given me grumpy guts!'
