Hey everyone, Im Katie from Wisconsin. I never really believed in a god, despite being raised Lutheran. I did get forced through the motions of one though, including confirmation and such. I think my parents thought that confirmation classes would be great since I never took the church seriously. Too bad it just pissed off the Pastor because I never stopped asking "why" and "how". Ah well, they should have seen it coming since I was a tiny sunday school drop out too. Anyways, looking forward to getting to know everyone.

A quick internet search tells me 1 - you may be right about the US vs. UK wording and 2 - it means the exact same thing regardless. Grumpy Gus seems like a grumpy person in the same way a negative Nellie would be a negative person. Grumpy guts sounds like a term for a tummy ache. Like - 'Ach! I shouldn't have had that burrito, it's given me grumpy guts!'
