I mean, I've been wondering all these things about mosquitoes for some reason or the other, but, um... You know how when you get bitten or "poked" by a mosquito, well, you know how you have a like, "bump" on the spot where you were poked? But well, why is that? I mean is it because they took out some blood from that certain spot, creating and air bubble of some sort?
I really have no idea, heh, thanks.
I know what you are talking about - I always get "eaten" in the summer time if I don't soak myself in bug repellant
The link will take you to a site with all other types of nasty stings and such
Why do mosquitoes bites itch and swell?
The itching, swelling, and burning from a mosquito bite are actually caused by the body's autoimmune response to the saliva injected by the mosquito when she feeds. This saliva contains anti-coagulating agents that prevent the victim's blood from clotting as it is sucked into the mosquito's abdomen. A bite may take several days to heal and stop itching; treat it with Calamine lotion or a topical anti-itch medication.

I always wondered why my wife and I attrack more mosquitoes than other people, until I read this article: http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/AR/archive/f ... sq0200.htm (http://www.ars.usda.gov/is/AR/archive/feb00/mosq0200.htm) . Now I know for sure that it is not a punishment from God, but our smelly socks  who attrack them.
Interesting.
Thanks. I really have no idea as of why I've been taking a fancy to mosquitoes lately, I just have this fling right now that's all. I just find them so fascinating for some twisted reason or the other....
Thanks again
