This was also posted on a 2012 forum (I searched - I am decidedly NOT a member of said forum).  This guy did this before with a post about sustainability that he also posted in a guitar hero forum or something.  Hit and run posters are teh suck.

How to learn best? Memorize some basic vocab then just start listening to German.

Look stuff up when you can't figure it out on your own.
Read.
Talk to some German people. Maybe even go to Germany.
Duh.
