In your experience are ex-theists the most demonstrative atheists?
Another one of those passing observation thoughts. If I think about the people I have seen on forums I think it would be fair to say that ex-theists are the most demonstrative atheists. Has this been your experience too?
Absolutely, because we have seen first-hand the destructive nature of religion.
Yes, the same as a newlywed raves about his marriage. At least in my experience.
From my experience, yes. I'm an ex-theist too.
What about the Unholy Trinity? I know Dawkins was Christian during his youth.
I guess it just depend on the person. Personally I know some atheists people, and they just don´t go about talking about their atheism. In my case I searched for this forum to share views and hear other´s atheists thoughts. But hen again a lot of theists don´t go about boasting oftheir religiousness.
People who haven't spent any time thinking about religion simply don't care. So, I would say yes.

I'd liken it more to the way a divorcee rants about her marriage, and raves about her freedom. Especially one who was abused, if their religion was anything like mine was. I'm not an 'angry atheist', though, because I safeguard my happiness by being aware of what triggers my bitter feelings toward religion. Still, I don't think they will ever go away altogether; I just get better at holding my tongue, finding a way to be civil, looking for common ground, etc. It helps to remember that religious people are victims, just like I was.

Awesome response, and I agree, "angry" atheists usually did have some kind of issue with their former religion. I wasn't so "harmed" by Christianity as I saw the harm that Christianity has done to mankind over the centuries and I am enraged by modern Right Winged Christians who want to take over the United States. I also have some serious issues with all other religions, as well.

All good points. The only time I really get bent out of shape is when I see religionists justifying injustice with their religion (as in CA's Prop 8 battle a couple of years ago).
