Yeah, I don't like this woman's god. It's a good thing she's not in a position of political influe-Oh great, she's running for political office in Nevada. Super duper. This woman is so stupid, she believes alcohol and porn should be illegal/banned. Did I mention she's running for office in Nevada? Yeah.
Well apparently her god plans out rapes and incest for people.
Yeah, she's been making lots of news lately. I would think that if there was a god, it would prevent someone like her from being born in the first place.

Thus indicating there is a) no God or a) God is not worth worshipping!
I am so sorry you Americans have to put up with this nonsense. Hopefully she is very much in the minority (a very loud minority sadly).
Sharron Angle is an out-and-out lunatic. The fact that shes the republican candidate for anything is profoundly worrying. What is happening to the US?
Rachel Maddow on Angle:

Rachel Maddow is cool.
That's some serious pwnge there.
Also, rather than "cool", I'd describe ol' Rachel as hot.
I would not even use the Bible. Abortion is killing an unborn child. This is a fact, not my opinion. You are supporting the killing of an unborn child, not on the basis of law or science. Science tells us when life begins.
Quote from: "jacobrock23"Science tells us when life begins.
Does it? Why don't you enlighten us... with reliable sources... as to precisely when life begins. Also, it would be useful here to agree on a definition 'life', I think you may have set the bar a little low for what constitutes 'life' or 'a child' or 'killing' in this case.
The Christian God is really rapey.
Remember Mary? If anyone today got a girl that age knocked up, they'd go to prison.

Bacteria is life. Shame on you if you ever kill it.

Ban disinfectant!
I'm a bit disappointed with this thread.
Just the same old stuff really.
I thought Jesus might be picking up on the young people’s music.
You know, lots of bling and odd hand gestures.
The Jesus rap, I'd like to see that.
I’m back after 2000 years to assault your ears…
The thing is, I understand why people like to think God plans on rape; rape already exists, so without the explanation that God has a deeper plan that makes it a secretly positive event, you have to concede that sometimes the world is just a terrible place. Some people would rather not face that. The problem is, it's a maddeningly circular argument; God is Good because of how wonderful life is, and when life ISN'T wonderful, God has a higher purpose in it-and you can be sure, because God is good! Personally, I'd rather live in a world that is arbitrarily terrible but can be fixed through social change, than in a world where rape is necessary for the Greater Good.
Reminds me of this:

ppl may start to redefine the freedom of speech.
good lord, this kind of things (to me) are just overretarded to have some public convention.
This is actually the main reason I'm an Atheist. I think it is cruel and sick for Christians to tell people that it is part of God's plan. I have actually been told that what happened to me was a test of faith. Not kidding. Grrrrr.... :brick: :brick:
Unfortunately, I don't think this viewpoint is entirely uncommon amongst Christians. I've heard religious people say time and time again that God has a plan for everything. Does He really? 11 years later, I'm still waiting for the reveal on the positive aspects of being sexually assaulted. Whenever I hear stuff like this, it feels like a slap in the face, as I imagine it would to many other victims of rape or incest being told they should be forced to carry that child because God has a plan. You want to believe that God sees rape and allows it to happen because somewhere, it MIGHT have a positive outcome? Fine, feel free. Meanwhile, I'll also feel free to think that's the most asinine thing I've heard in awhile.

"But God won't intercede free will."

Right...Again...
1) God sees evil and does nothing, he is not benevolent.
2) God sees evil and can't do anything, he is not omnipotent.
3) God cannot see all the evil in the world, he is omnipresent.
God does not exist.

Ugh, 'test of faith'. How disgusting. If a man punched his wife in the face to test her love, we would rightly call that man psychotic and abusive, and advice the woman to get a divorce. Why are moral expectations so much lower for God?
I just want to add that I would vote for this thread as having the best title of any thread on the forum since it started. And I've been here since it started, so that's a lot of threads and titles. Thanks to pinkocommie for starting the thread!
