Hi, im janice.
I am a Christian and decided to join because i was very curious and interested in what everyone thought :]
I am a devout Seventh-Day Adventist and a bit of both conservative and liberal. I would like to say that i have a strong faith, but hey, there's always room for improvement. I hate it when Christianity is misrepresented by self righteous people and i love it when people express themselves. I'm not a fan of profanities however i learned to deal with it

. Oh! and i am in no way going to try to evangelize. I'm just interested in what people have to say, and i try to rectify offences that some Christians commit when they try to shove God down peoples' throats.

I hope you don't mind me asking you this. How did you come to be a Seventh-Day Adventist?

My parents were actually SDAs to begin with so they would of course introduce it to me. But of course i would have my doubts and carelessness. However through my own experiences i found God within the church and found it to be very biblical in its teaching.

Interesting. Can you describe those experiences?

Well there was this one time where i had problems about family and friends and people would either fake interest/concern or simply tell me straight up to suck it up. At that time i could care less about God. However, due to the lack of support i received from my environment, i went to my last resort for help, which was God. I was reassured by both the bible and the fact that i really was not alone in my problems. I ended up changing to a different SDA church because they seemed to be more understanding and genuinely concerned about my well-being. And with my stay with them, everything we do is backed up by the bible so i usually have no problem with the stuff we do. :]
I forgot to mention this...but I attended an SDA church for about a year while dating a member of the church in high school; really got me thinking about my religion but didn't lead me to the conclusions that most would expect

It's probably best I not explain in detail till after you are use to our frankness here (though you can dig up some of my older posts on leaving religion)....but the essence was that no one knows what in the world the bible really was meant to teach yet they all think they are right and that dogma was founded on what people wanted it to be rather than what it really was.

Sounds good to us. We don't mind discussion but so many people come here just to argue and tell us how dumb or ridiculous we are for lacking belief - just like some atheists who troll Xian boards saying the same thing about those who believe...if you ever wander through Yahoo Answers and look at their religion and spirituality category you can see what I mean. Each group has their zealots who risk making the whole look bad.
Anyhow, we have plenty of other topics besides religion and the like that we talk about here too, so feel free to share!

Hmm, really thought provoking. Well, when you said that, the thought of denominations just popped up in my head. Personally i just read the bible and so far what I've been taught makes sense to me :/
