Both 16 months old, have lived together as pups from 7 weeks old. Mistress could no longer look after them and they have been at the kennels for just one week. I get to collect them on Tuesday. Sally is a Jack Russell and Katy is a Pug + West Highland Terrier cross. Going to see them again tomorrow and Monday as well I would expect.[/spoiler:teu7cqoa]
Tank you opened a can of worms.... Do you realize how big my pet zoo/herd is?????
I take it these are new fur babies for you? Congrats and enjoy!!!!
I have a page though, so as not to inundate this thread
Gus has developed arthritis and an odd little OCD behavior we are trying to sort out, thyroid was perfect last week, no change in meds
Kelvin's CRF has greatly improved, his numbers are now back in the normal range so any life expectancy rating has been lifted to most likely normal barring a backslide[/spoiler:3ad9j6q5]
We won't mention the chickens.......... Not even Mr Dipshit Fuzzyass
Ooh!!! I finally got the pics to load!! Katy is CUTE!!!! Sally ain't so bad either! (my computer is being snarky today)
Glad you're springing them from the shelter, no pet should have to live in one for long if at all. Why must you wait until Tuesday??? I'd be wanting to take them home now!
My dog is called Sally as well, I have already posted her on the forums, freaky though.

The Dogs Trust (http://www.dogstrust.org.uk/) has a very strict process for looking after re-homed animals. I have to go for a lecture on good pet care on Tuesday for an hour and I can't take them until I've done that. So Pam is going to visit today, I'm going to visit Monday and collect them on Tuesday

Quite the little zoo there. I've never owned a reptile but have often considered getting one, but my wife would not be a happy bunny if I did.
Bearded dragons are a great reptile for the less reptile friendly family. At one point I had two 6 ft. red tailed boas, a monitor lizard, a corn snake, a turtle and a bearded dragon. Though admittedly, those were mainly my ex's pets. I had the rats, the ferret and the cats. It's so crazy only having a single cat in the family now...my house feels so empty!

So in what order did they eat each other and how come the cat survived?

Ah, good deal. I wish us small rescues could do that out here. As it is now I thoroughly interrogate my prospective adopters, make them bring their dogs over to my house for a few hours (if they have any) and then take the adoptees to their place for a few hours before letting them sign paperwork. Out of nearly 100 adoptions so far I've only had the one with Sally and Schroeder fail. Which sucks because I can't take another dog until they are both adopted.
I have fishies! Three tanks, one 100 l with one threespot gourami, 1 black molly and 5 platys and one pleco
one 50l with two dwarf gouramis, three danios and one algae eater

Hahaha. When I broke up with that boyfriend, he took almost all the animals, even the ones he didn't really like.

Then when I moved to TX, I left my kitties with my parents and by the time I moved back to WA, my cats were used to living with my dad and his dog, so I decided to not break up that family. The cat we have now, my son named her Cutie, is a relatively new addition.

How far would you have to travel? I've transported fish with no losses as far as 400 miles. I use a large rubbermaid tub with holes punched in the top so I can feed the battery powered bubbler in. You could even use a regular bubbler or powerhead if you get a power converter for your car's cigarette lighter/power plug.

For a decent selection we'd have to go at least 100 miles, it stays so hot here most of the year I'm afraid the water would get too hot during transport. We'd have to use the big truck that has no AC to do this in, the little pick-up has NO room in it. Plus we are looking at discus for the next time we start up, from what I've heard they are notoriously prone to keeling over in stressful moves. Though if we find a place that has jurapari that might change our minds.

I've always loved red cats. And he's adorable.
Quote from: "Cecilie"Quote from: "Tank"Quote from: "Cecilie"Isn't it weird that it's illegal to castrate male dogs in Norway when it's so encouraged in the U.S.?
Why on earth not!
It's "messing" with nature.
Uh... didn't we mess with nature to create dogs in the first place?
Great pics everyone!
(got one cat... but not near any pics at the moment)
21! Wow!

For some odd reason cats totally fine to castrate.
Attached is the pic of Clawsâ,,¢ the Rat. The other one is VERY difficult to photograph because he never sits still enough. ADHD, you know
What a little cutie!

I have always like the idea of a rat as a pet, they appear to be very bright creatures.
They are. Very intelligent and friendly and they have those awesome tiny fingers and toes and are generally very nice for company if you can keep up with them
Awesome!! I've had hamsters, gerbils, mice, guinea pigs but never rats
I loved my pet rats. I am thinking of getting another rat for my son. They're very clever animals, and fun to have around. My evil Cutie cat might be an issue though...she's got huntin' in her blood and I'm afraid the rat would never have a moment of peace with her around.
Coincidentally, does anyone else have a cat that 'clicks' a bunch? I have had cats before that did it every once in a while and I know it's usually a response to seeing prey nearby, but Cutie clicks her ass off, even when there's nothing around! It's crazy, she's like an adorable, furry little rotary phone.
She's trying to clicker train you :yay:
Uh oh, Cutie's mad because we have a long weekend house guest. =D

Do WANT!!!!
He's pretty adorable. Hardly ever barks. He's the perfect little dog. I don't know why my sister didn't want to take him camping with them, but I'm glad I get to watch him. Makes me miss having a dog.
This here, is Mouse. All credits for the photo go to Miriam, my friend's girlfriend, who was watching over me rats while my friend and I were at a festival

I see no Rats!

My two in a rare moment of truce. The tabby likes other cats but isn't that keen on people, while the black & white one loves people but hates being too near cats. Life is interesting!

Watch out snakes Mr Kookie is here!
Is he a pet, well he's got a name and we have fed him.
He can be distracting when splitting wood and a grub is revealed.
Swooping wings skimming my head can put my aim off.
The photo has been photoshoped, the stick is mine but the beach is a few kms away.
@TMP
That's not a bad bit of 'shopping. I can see it now you mention it but it doesn't smack one in the face. There are times I envy Australians for their wildlife, then I remember that most of it can maim/hurt/poison/sting/bite you with potentially lethal consequences and consider myself lucky that a snake bite makes the national news in the UK

So, is he sitting in the ol' gum tree then? Very cute.

Most of us do survive to adulthood.
I do have a scar from a cockatoo on my thumb, I bear it with pride.
This Major Mitchell cockatoo is my brothers, again he has been photoshoped to the beach.
Also Banksia trees named by/for Sir Joseph Banks.
Pudding, i totally respect your photoshopping skills.
I'd love to live in a tropical country again. The wildlife is spectacular. We used to feed cicadas to a lizard which lived in a coconut tree next to our house. He became a pet of sorts, although our cats were petrified of it. It was almost two feet long from head to tail. I used to call it Graham, although i can't for the life of me remember why.

I don't claim to be a photoshop wizard, I just dabble.
I live at a latitude similar to San Diego, winter is cool but summer isn't too hot.
There are some large goanas (monitor lizards) that inhabit some remnant rainforest adjoining the beaches.
They are about 5ft long and not troubled by people.
Graham seems as good a name as any for a lizard.
Katie having a splash!

I think you should be careful showing your turtle to people here.
Some of them just can't be trusted.
