Just an "Adopt-a-Highway" sign by Atheists United.
(one I see myself from time to time)
Apparently even that is too much for some to bear:

How incredibly petty. The funniest part of it all being that all those vandals are doing is drawing attention to the atheist group. The atheist group is doing a good deed - cleaning up trash on the highway - while the vandalizing theists just end up looking like childish jerk wads.

I would be very keen to see how an Atheist sign would be treated in my native Scotland.
