Steam has launched for Mac. Valve has also decided to make portal free for everyone as long as you grab it before the 24th.
CLICKY CLICKY (http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/)
And I'll go ahead and start this thread off. NO ONE MESS IT UP
This was a triumph.
AHHHHH!
:broken: :satan:
I'm making a note here: HUGE FAILURE
This was not a triumph?
It's easy to understate Twiz's dissatisfaction.
What happened?

You have until the 24th. You will be entirely on your own. Good luck.

It's a first person-based "puzzle", but the only weapon you shoot is a portal gun which allows you to, well, create a portal from one place to the next. In the game, you are essentially a lab rat, and are forced to complete each level using some very unconventional thinking. All the while you are guided by GlaDOS, your friendly neighborhood [spoiler:lv88k9wo]homicidal[/spoiler:lv88k9wo] artificial intelligence.
It is also chock-full of some of the best dark humor you'll find in any modern medium.
Stop reading, go download it. I promise you won't be disappointed. If you end up disappointed feel free to give me a 3 day ban or change my avatar to a rainbow pony or something.

First time I saw that I nearly puked I was laughing so hard.
That video is great. I'm actually playing Portal currently and on level 18. I loved back a level or two when I got to stalk and destroy those guys!
Now if I could only figure out how the hell to get through these last two levels. I hope there's cake!
I'm stuck on level 15. Any help?
which bit are you stuck on?
Remember how to doublefling (Ie, shoot a portal onto the floor as you are flying through the air) to get more distance.

SSY posted a much better, and more subtle reply (hello,
SSY) just as I was hitting "Submit." My reply is basically to point you to a place where you can cheat yourself out of the joy of a game like this, by getting a solution handed to you. So I'll put it in 'spoiler' tags, and you can look at it if you decide you really need it.
[spoiler:20zeaa2e]Most of the fun in this type of game is in working out the solution yourself, and the sense of achievement that brings. However, at a certain point, the boredom and frustration cancel out the fun. In my opinion, that's when one
might consult a walkthrough. Try to avoid simply watching all the walkthroughs and following them: often you can find entertaining little details in the game that walkthroughs ignore, because they are just about getting through the level, not enjoying and exploring the game. And in fact some of them are posted by gamers who obviously have way too much free time, and want a chance to show off their awesome skillz.
With that in mind: A Portal Walkthroughs page (http://www.portalwalkthroughs.com/)[/spoiler:20zeaa2e]
Thanks.
I have it on the xbox as part of the orange box, I loved the ending!
