I'm howling with laughter watching "The Invention of Lying," and had to hop on to recommend it to you all. Without giving away spoilers...the biggest lie has something to do with "the man in the sky," mansions when we die, 10 rules for how to live and assorted goodies.
Your totally right, that movie is a must see. Hilarious! Makes perfect sense why a lot of people didn't like it.
I just added it and moved it to the top of our Netflix queue.
Ricky Gervais is the man. I loved his other movie, too. Is he an atheist? (I think I remember reading somewhere that he was)

Yeah, he's a pretty vocal atheist.

I enjoyed it, but it didn't have me in tears like I've come to expect from most of Gervais' stuff. I know it's not in the same genre, but I laughed my ass off for days at Bill Maher's Religulous, despite not being a the biggest Maher fan.
Monty Python's Life of Brian is probably the funniest atheist-slanted film i've ever seen. It is also the most clever.
I hear Battlefield Earth was a pretty cool atheist movie confirm/deny?

I'm 100% sure Twiz was being sarcastic.
