I'm doing a school project where i have to discuss with others the existence of God. 
Every cause in this world has an effect. The universe is an effect and therefore has an ultimate cause. That ultimate cause is God. Everything has a purpose and a design. It wasn't created randomly. Just like our DNA, it is complex and proves there is a complex design. The world didn't just poof into exestence, it has an ultimate creator. Just like in irreducable complexity with a mouse trap, every part is needed in order to function and work. Just like this, everything has a design and purpose which screams out that there is a designer.

Did this ultimate creator just poof into existence? If not, was he just always there, waiting for...well, nothing to happen until he was bored enough to create everything? If you're willing to believe there is a being that has always existed, then why would it be hard for you to believe that other things might have always existed, like the whole universe?

Well, no. Every part is needed for the universe to do what it does now, which just happens to conform to your purposes for it, as a living human being. If it weren't doing that, it would be doing something else, perhaps not so much to our liking. We're just lucky that way.

I love watching this satyr show on tv, but it was at 5:30 in the afternoon. So now that I got a job, I wouldn't be able o watch it. But for some reason, they changed their time and now they're showing it at night! Weekly EXCEPT FRIDAYS, so that I can have a night out without worrying Id miss an episode.

I find it disheartening that so many here disbelieve in the almighty. Everything she posted is true.

The argument posted for the existence of God is the argument of the missing middle (the Universe has a cause therefore the cause is God), but the members of this forum have degraded a philosophical debate into a heckling contest. The argument poses no threat to your world-view and can be deconstructed by philosophical enquiry so the point of this childish behaviour is lost on me. Once again intelligent discussion has been drowned out by the cackling of gulls.

you aren't a moderator, students come to haf all the time posting class assignments then never return and there is no reason for anyone to waste their time unless the student demonstrates real interest.

I'm locking this topic because there is no argument to respond to "poof" isn't very intellectual and any teacher who is allowing you to use that in your argument shouldn't be teaching.
