happy that i'm holy. i once was lost but now am found.
How do you define happy?
Quote from: "Will"How do you define happy?
happiness is found in the holiness of God.
I didn't ask where you find happy, I asked how you define it. If someone opened the Holy Joey dictionary and looked up H for happy, what would it read?
Why does the OP feel like spam?
Also HJ who lost you?

Eh. Banned soon enough, I'm sure. Do you honestly think HoJo is here for anything more than trying to make him/herself feel better about his/her own beliefs? Hope it's working for you, buddy.

you just need something to believe deep inside, but don't know it.

You just need some education, but don't know it.
Not a very nice thing to say to someone, huh? Bad Christian, no rapture. Sad clown face.

I'm thinking that what you really need is A JOB, and God can't help you there.

education about what?

That's right, medical leave. You said that you'd had heart problems and also some cancer, correct? Would you say that it was these health problems that brought you to this convinction that you'd been found by God, or were you already religious before you became ill?
Quote from: "i_am_i"Would you say that it was these health problems that brought you to this convinction that you'd been found by God, or were you already religious before you became ill?

Alright. You were just a child, then, weren't you? Let's forget about your father for a moment. Tell me, how did you come into contact with this pastor? Was he the pastor at your church? Did you seek him out, ask for his advice?

Pretty defensive for someone who started the thread. You obviously want to talk about being happy and holy and being once lost but now found, yet when asked about it you're getting all snippy. Whats with that, HoJo?

those aren't happy holy questions.
Joey, corporate manager for UPS who is currently suffering from heart disease and cancer, whose father raped his brother and whose mother slept on the floor, you, sir, are a fraud. And you're not even a good one!
Go ahead, tell me how I'm wrong.

no, it's all true. you may live in a sheltered world. but you don't need to believe me if you don't wish. you came asking the questions.
HJ I'd actually like to have a conversation with you as would other members of HAF. However you are making it difficult. I know you want to raise your posts quickly but posting one line responses 3 times in a row is annoying at best. I don't typically help people out who I don't think are interested in holding rational discussions or contributing to the forum, but for sanity's sake let me let you in on a Happy Atheist secret. When you are on the reply screen you can scroll down the previous posts and hit the quote button and you can quote multiple people on the same post. At least that way no one has to read 20 posts to get five sentences worth of responses from you. Though we don't grade you on your posts grammar, punctuation and sentence structure are appreciated by members here. It doesn't have to be perfect (no ones is) but an attempt is appreciated.
Now I am curious about your condition. What type/denomination of theism do you follow? Are you refusing medical procedures based on religious beliefs? Your posts seem to indicate that you think magic man made everything and does everything. Does that mean he is giving you heart attacks and cancer too? Man he must really love you...
Now back to the beginning where you said you lost yourself and your god found you. Shouldn't you say you found your god? After all he doesn't seem to have your best interests in mind when it comes to your current health status. To me that sounds like being an 8 year old lost in the woods and running into the local pedophile it doesn't seem like your situation has improved. Perhaps you should say that you stumbled around until the ice cream man found you and offered to let you ride in the back of his truck. I don't see any reason why you should be bragging about that. If your magic man did everything he has caused undue suffering on you in recent times, you can't have the good without the bad.

not sure how you came to that conclusion.

i've not blamed God for anything here. you may be projecting.
Thats the problem. You aren't blaming your god here for the terrible things that have happened but you credit him with the good things that happened. If your god was the creator of everything and constantly interferes with things to help you then when something terrible has happened and your god hasn't helped you it is because he doesn't want to, he did this to you, he is enjoying watching this happen to you, he doesn't care about you, or he isn't real.
Also I can't project onto something that isn't real. Sorry, not me projecting. I'm following your logic to it's conclusion which you seem to be ignoring. However your statement leads me to believe you are projecting feelings onto what i'm saying. Please understand that I do not believe your god exists, I cannot have any feeling toward a god just like I cannot have any feelings toward Santa Clause. I can't be angry at Santa, or happy at Santa, or any other feeling at Santa because he isn't real. Same with any god.
Quote from: "holy joey"no, it's all true. you may live in a sheltered world. but you don't need to believe me if you don't wish. you came asking the questions.

no.

you seem to have developed a very elaborate god concept.

your god concept has a very elaborate personality. it runs virtually parallel to anthropomorphism.

seems like a strawman argument.

a half-dozen modern-western doctors are basing their information on statistical probablility in the absence of signed liability waivers, suggesting an 80% mortality risk this year. the eastern doctor suggests that it may or may not be at a pre-detection stage of advancement. the cancer philosophies are very much different.
Quote from: "i_am_i"Why would you think that I live in sheltered world, Joey?
because you interpret my answers to your specific questions as impossible, to the degree that you resorted to allegation.
Quote from: "holy joey"your reference about a magic man giving me cancer. not sure how you came up with that.
In the previous comments you made both in this thread and in your introduction you made many comments such as, god is your doctor and he answers your prayers anytime anywhere. I'm guessing the latest tests confirm that you still have the cancer and the heart problems. In which case only a few hypotheses can be true for you. I'm almost 100% positive you've prayed for your god to cure you of this cancer. Yet you still have it. So either 1: god is ignoring you, 2: someone you know is praying for you to have cancer in which case your god answered their prayers and not yours, 3: there is no god. If you think god is all powerful and is able to take away your cancer, he must be able to give you cancer as well. Since you are willing to accept that magic can fix you and science (medicine) can't then why aren't you open to the idea that magic gave you the cancer too? Which is easy to answer, you are like most theists and credit your magic man for all the good that happens in your life and credit something else when bad stuff happens.
If your god is all powerful and watching you and knows/actively participates in your life (answering prayers and such will qualify him for this) then he gave you the cancer as well... why else would you still have it... he must want you to have cancer and die from it. Or the better answer is that there is no god doing this, shit happens, and doctors can fix these problems at a certain success rate. In which case you are wasting time and energy praying when you need to get yourself under the knife.
QuoteQuoteDo you have to be looking to find something?
no.
Then why couldn't you find your god instead of it finding you?

Not really. Most Christians believe that their god is all powerful, all knowing, cares for you, and interferes in your life constantly. If he interferes in your life constantly then when you find your car keys and credit your god he gets points, and when he gives you hereditary heart defects it's his fault also. You can't say he is responsible for everything but he isn't to be blamed for the bad stuff too.

How am I misrepresenting the situation exactly? How is this a straw man? Again when the actual tooth fairy makes you angry let me know.
And one last note i'm off to bed. I'll respond to whatever you say in the morning. If you are still going to claim i'm projecting then please prove it and quit asserting it. All you have done here is assert garbage and when I explain why it doesn't work you start to turn to more assertions and an ad hominem. If you assert it please back it up otherwise don't assert it.

your guess is incorrect.
QuoteIn which case only a few hypotheses can be true for you.
your case does not exist.

almost 100% is not 100%. i'll accept whatever comes.

i never mentioned anything to the contrary.

i never suggested that magic can fix me. rather, i suggested that medicine may not be able to, by the doctors' own admission.
QuoteWhich is easy to answer, you are like most theists and credit your magic man for all the good that happens in your life and credit something else when bad stuff happens.
incorrect. you're projecting a strawman argument. you're simply likening me to others you've met. i've admininstered no such credits.
QuoteIf your god is all powerful and watching you and knows/actively participates in your life (answering prayers and such will qualify him for this) then he gave you the cancer as well... why else would you still have it...
you're projecting postulation.
Quotehe must want you to have cancer and die from it.
now you're getting just plain spooky.
QuoteOr the better answer is that there is no god doing this, shit happens, and doctors can fix these problems at a certain success rate.
human mortality brings illness. illness is commonly part of the dying process.
QuoteIn which case you are wasting time and energy praying when you need to get yourself under the knife.
that's not your choice. it's illegal for doctors to treat me.
QuoteThen why couldn't you find your god instead of it finding you?
the capacity doesn't exist within the context of mortal pseudo-consciousness. the agnostics can explain this to you.
QuoteYou aren't blaming your god here for the terrible things that have happened but you credit him with the good things that happened.
incorrect. quote me directly where i've done this.
QuoteMost Christians believe that their god is all powerful, all knowing, cares for you, and interferes in your life constantly.
how did you come to mix christianity with our discussion? i've never mentioned christ. not all theists are christian.

QuoteWhen you get angry at the tooth fairy let me know.
you seem a bit angry at the god concept that you've constructed and falsely claim that i believe in.

QuoteHow am I misrepresenting the situation exactly? How is this a straw man?
i reference this above.

again, see above.
QuoteAll you have done here is assert garbage
you're getting emotional. i can tell by the colorful language.
Quoteand when I explain why it doesn't work you start to turn to more assertions and an ad hominem.
what you interpret as ad hominem may be just you taking things personally. this is likely why you're getting emotional with me by calling my assertions garbage. very colorful language.

In what part of your body is this cancer? What kind of cancer is it? What were the results of the biopsy? You say in another post that it is illegal to treat your cancer. What do you mean by this? If it is illegal to treat your cancer then why are you seeing doctors? What do you mean when you say an eastern doctor told you your cancer is in a pre-detection stage of advancement. That seems like an oxymoron.
What kind of medication are you taking? Are you being treated for mental problems? I don't mean this as a personal attack. It is just a question because your posts often seem disjointed and sometimes don't make a great deal of sense.

I'd respond to your posts and talk about you flat out lying on here. But it's pointless. I see you enjoy lying to people to gain sympathy in order to evangelize your beliefs. This may well be fun for you but people on this site actually care about people who have cancer, heart problems and who suffer unduly. But you don't care. You are a little person who gets a boner by trying to get sympathy out of people on the internet. If you do this too much in real life the men in white coats might find you and take you. At least in a mental ward you can finally be around fellow Christians who believe, unjustly, in just as crazy shit you apparently do.
Go troll some Christian forum.

to get prescriptions.
QuoteWhat do you mean when you say an eastern doctor told you your cancer is in a pre-detection stage of advancement. That seems like an oxymoron.
it sounds like an oxymoron to the modern western mind, but the eastern mind thinks differently.
QuoteWhat kind of medication are you taking?
anti-inflammatories.
QuoteAre you being treated for mental problems? I don't mean this as a personal attack.
no.
QuoteIt is just a question because your posts often seem disjointed and sometimes don't make a great deal of sense.
i prefer to respond briefly, because many people often get confused with longer responses in their simple-mindedness.
Quote from: "LoneMateria"I'd respond to your posts and talk about you flat out lying on here. But it's pointless. I see you enjoy lying to people to gain sympathy in order to evangelize your beliefs. This may well be fun for you but people on this site actually care about people who have cancer, heart problems and who suffer unduly. But you don't care.
you're welcome to believe or disbelieve anything that you want either way. i've been honest with you, yet you're calling me a liar. right after declaring ad hominem. you don't agree with me religiously, so you villify me personally.
QuoteYou are a little person who gets a boner by trying to get sympathy out of people on the internet. If you do this too much in real life the men in white coats might find you and take you. At least in a mental ward you can finally be around fellow Christians who believe, unjustly, in just as crazy shit you apparently do.
actually, it doesn't matter to me whether you extend sympathy or not. i was being accused of not sharing personal information before. but then when i was specifically questioned regarding personal issues, i've been called a liar. i had expected as much from you.
I'm something of an amatuer psychoanalyst and this guys's great! I'll have my diagnosis ready sometime tonight.
Quote from: "pinkocommie"Quote from: "holy joey"Quote from: "karadan"Erm.. Who did your father kidnap?
a 10 year old boy was kidnapped, drugged, sodomized and filmed by my father's husband at my father's house.
QuoteDid he let it known or did you find out in some unfortunate way like in The Road To Perdition where the kid looks through a crack in some wood to see his dad shoot someone in the head?
i found out months afterwards when my father's husband went to jail.
QuoteThat's got to be a disturbing upbringing, if true.
when his husband went to jail, he then desired me, but i don't believe in that.
OF COURSE your dad was a gay pedophile.
:yay:

Have your Vitamin D level checked. Take a minimum of 4,000 IU of Vitamin D3 (over the counter vitamin) per day until your Vitamin D3 level reaches at least 50 ng/ml. Here is a link that explains.

You are welcome to believe or disbelieve anything you want I really don't care. I have been honest in all my inquiry and observations. You are the one who has been dishonest both intellectually and to others on this forum. I didn't vilify you, again you are projecting your emotions onto what I have been saying and making ad hominems. I stated that I am skeptical about your statements and the way you have acted leads me to believe you are being dishonest. So quit playing the, "i'm the victim" card. If you aren't being dishonest then feel free to show it.

"mommy those atheists are calling me a liar waaa"
If your responses didn't sound like you are making shit up as you go along then maybe people here wouldn't question your veracity. Try looking at it from our perspective. You show up and start spamming different threads with one line comments, you don't even attempt to rationally discuss anything, and you tell stories designed to get sympathy while being bigoted such as saying your dads husband wants to rape you ... and you can't figure out why we aren't taking you seriously. If you really can't figure it out then you are about as smart as a stump. I have absolutely no sympathy for you and I really don't think any other member does as well. Your lame attempts to gain sympathy while being openly bigoted and dishonest show what type of person you really are.
Feel free to apologize to members of the forum for being an ass.

thanks. i'll bring this up with one of my doctors to check the vitamin D level. i had an alternative doctor give me mega-doses of vitamin D about a year ago. (at least, i think it was D. i forget now.) i've just had so many illnesses that i don't think that my body can tolerate many of the modern western treatments anymore.

The mega doses were most likely Vitamin D2. I was on that for over a year and my levels went from 22 to 26. D2 just didn't work for me because it is not easily converted. The link goes into this problem. D3 converts easily. You can get a prescription but you don't need one. Join a colon cancer forum for ideas about nutrition an treatments. you're building another strawman argument. actually, my mommy passed away three years ago. i mentioned that elsewhere in the thread.

Quotewhile being bigoted such as saying your dads husband wants to rape you ...
actually, you misinterpreted the statement. i was referring to my father who tried to rape me, not his husband. not sure how that's bigoted, unless being anti-incest or anti-pedophile is bigoted.
QuoteI have absolutely no sympathy for you and I really don't think any other member does as well.
you made that clear a while back. not sure how that helps things. although, you must not be reading the other posts.

okay, thanks. i'm not familiar with the differences between the types of vitamins too much.

i'm assuming that only a doctor can check the blood levels through blood tests or something like that. i have no idea what my vitamin levels are so i never know what to take.

You have to ask that your blood levels of Vitamin D be checked. It is a separate blood test and the results take about five days. If you are seldom in the sun, the best source of Vitamin D, then I suggest that you up your intake of D3 now. According to the Vitamin D Symposium, levels of intake below 10,000 IU a day are perfectly safe. You will still want to talk to your doctor.
Check out this forum. I took a look at it and it seems to have a reasonable amount of traffic and informed members.

okay, i see the general doctor and cardiologist this week, and the gastroenterologist in a month.

i'm sick in bed alot, and seldom go outside, especially in the winter. i lay sideways about 16 hours per day/night.

i was never sure what vitamins could be overdosed versus which could be safe.

okay, i've read the article. good to know. thanks again.
Okay, I've been doing some research and giving this some thought and here's what I've come up with.
Joey, I really think that this is the last place you need to be right now. First off you've got some profound psychological issues that simply cannot be addressed here, not in any way that would do you a bit of good. What you need is professional counciling.
Secondly, you have what sounds like some serious health issues to attend to, issues that will require all your focus and strength to address.
And finally, you've made it clear that yours is a world-view that very few people here take all that seriously. This is an atheist forum and you're going to be up against atheists who are well-armed to take on any argument you care to make. Is this really something you want to have inserted into your life right now?
I wish you good luck. Myself, I won't be responding to anything more you put up here.
Seconded.
Damn! I came in late to the party. This guy cracks me up.
Nothing funny about your health issues. Sorry to hear about it. Hope all works out for you.
But seriously, you are cracking my shit up!
Hismikeness
Holy Joe,
This really is the wrong forum for you. The people on this board are not going to argue with someone who is as ill as you are. The atheists on the Breast Cancer Forum I belong to won't argue with believers. I think you will find the companionship and intellectual stimulation you seek on the colon cancer forum or on forums for your other health issues.
By the way, I always have the same screen name. I hope to run across you some time and see that your health is improving in all areas. Feel free to contact me through PM on this site at any time.
May you be well and happy.
