I am a 'Norwester' (Oregon/Washington) since 1978 and am a Buddhist/Atheist (Buddhist since 1988, Atheist since birth since we are all born atheist and I never got convinced into supernaturalism). I work/study in the energy conservation/efficiency field with architectural/HVAC/electronics being the specific areas.
Unfortunately, I am a bit snarky at times but usually gose it with humor and try to interlace it with interesting factoids. Case-in-point: The Creationist Museum is doing well it appears ( http://www.wlwt.com/family/21667399/detail.html (http://www.wlwt.com/family/21667399/detail.html) ). As with most corporations, I suspect that a large part of this 'success' is donations online, 'new-car' smell of an anti-Darwin circus show, and some backroom deals. But, on the plus side, the local area gets an emploment boost with jobs at the museum such as greeters, ushers, and religious artistry. Maybe even some reality-based professions such as building engineer. <g>
To those that think this Museum of Abrahamic lore will die out: Disneyland is still rocking, ne?

Yeah it doesn't surprise me this is as big as it is. People are always looking for something to confirm the beliefs they have. In an earlier post about the creation museum I posted this:

The only experience I have of the creation museum was on the movie Religulous. I was actually surprised to see all the decent animatronics. It struck me as a side show or freak show but I could get the idea of entertainment from it. But, if it is an educational experience that they try to offer… Id just assume drink the poisonous Kool-Aid at home rather than their gift shop.
