Title: Can we trust video proof anymore?
Post by: Whitney on November 13, 2009, 02:31:30 PM
For years video has been an effective way to prove something really happened.  However, with new breakthroughs in video editing people can make stuff like this:

How long will it be before someone can edit a, for instance, Big Foot into their video without leaving any trace of editing behind; even under the eye of experts.

(The same question applies to photography)

The answer is it depends.  New video faking techniques will mean we must think critically when it comes to videos.  We must strive to learn even more then we currently know and be able to use logic to decipher truth from fiction.  I'm sure it will take some time to get used to but i know we can decipher truth from fiction.
