So today I got notification telling me of the new comments on my Associated Content articles.  Two of the comments were stalker level.

I've gotten lots of the generic "I hope you die" and "Burn in Hell" and "expletive, expletive" sort of comments which I've dealt with by simply deleting them.  This somehow feels different, like I should do something about it.  What do you think?  Am I just being oversensitive on the rape threat issue?

Jeez, that Bob guy's quite a moron. You can be arrested for making physical threats on the internet.

God may not be here to "punish the wicked", but the police seem to be quite good at it. If you feel you're in danger, please call the police.

Does AC record the identity of people who leave comments?  I would contact both AC and the police (I think internet is FBI jurisdiction).  It's probably not a serious threat but this person needs to be caught before it does become serious.

Double check that you are not easy to locate if someone were to take all the information you have provided on the internet...just to be on the safe side.

They probably do record IP addresses.  I contacted both AC's help and legal departments and I'm awaiting their reply.

I shouldn't be too easy to locate but I'll be cautious anyway.  I write under a pen name but it is an "open" pen name, my real name isn't secret, it's just boring.

The thing that concerns me is that I've had a local stalker on one occasion in this city and more than once when I lived elsewhere.  They never caught my most recent local stalker, she just switched to stalking my neighbor and then stopped.

This person is probably not actually going to take any actions but it's better to be safe.  I've been the target of religiously motivated violence before and I have no desire to repeat the experience.

Stay safe.  Morons like this end up getting caught and facing the consequences of their actions.  Their god won't keep them out of jail.  I wouldn't respond or anything to it, just need to acknowledge that there are sick fucks who think the punishment of hell (eternal torture) isn't enough and want to mentally enact some warped justice to gain gods favor by harassing others and threatening them here on the earth.  That person probably has a myriad of mental illnesses that are compounded by his fantasy adventure land and needs serious psychiatric help.  I hope they catch that fuck on a stick Bob and you need to stay safe Kylyssa.

Well, he didn't do anything.  But the fact is, once you have an Internet stalker who hunts you down and tries to do something nasty to you, you become a bit sensitive to this kind of thing.
