Title: From the island of child buggering saints
Post by: FXR on October 08, 2009, 08:56:23 PM
Hello
I'm posting from Ireland. I'm hoping to forge global links between like minded Godfree people everywhere. I'm starting a kind of global think tank so that effective ideas that work to combat organised religion can be moved from one place to another.

Globally spread superstition meets globally spread reason.

It's the 21st century so why not act like it.

Hi, welcome to HAF.

Are there any ways to control organized religion?  The fundamentalists are pretty much running a muck around here.  Education seems to be the only real means of stopping it and 'they' are trying to take over our schools too.

Thanks. I'm hoping we can set up an ideas network across the blue dot.

The problems have always been the same. Absolute certainty, which can only be based on delusion or lies, fuels zealots. A content person who knows there is much we don't know and thinks individually could never be a zealot because they have nothing to base zealousness on.
However the human race is entering a new phase of development. Organised religionism has been established for so long and in the meantime scientific knowledge has reached a point that logic can now turn on superstition and challenge it. It's a lucky time to be alive. The bell was first rung by Richard Dawkins and the bell ringers are sounding all across the blue dot. The time has passed where rational keeps quite on Sunday and get back on with it's work on Monday. It's not enough to say Eveloution is a fact now you can say therfore your imaginary friend is not.

Maybe your not interested in this, but would you care to comment on my political theory thread in the philosophy forum? If your starting a think tank, you might be interested in it. Thanks.
