I'm a young atheist, but I've been one ever since I was 8 or 10 years old. I used to be a Baptist, but after much thinking I reached the conclusion that it was a whole bunch of crap and decided there was no god. (I think it's pretty remarkable considering that I was just a kid and it takes many people their whole lives to reach that conclusion.)
Most of my friends don't even know that I'm an Atheist because it's a very touchy subject here. Costa Rica's official religion is Christianity and there's still some sort of religious discrimination. I came here looking for a place where I won't be judged nor discriminated.
Please forgive any grammar and/or spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language.
Must. . . discriminate. . . against. . . non-believer. . .
Just kidding
Anyway, welcome to the forums.

Don't worry, you're way ahead of the people who speak
Engrish as a second language
espanihongiol (*or would it be better to call it spanglanese?) isn't my first language, but that doesn't stop me from speaking it.

Welcome to the forum! You are our first member from Costa Rica (at least that I can see). I imagine in much of Central America that it would be difficult to be a non-christian in public. I've spent time in Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and it is deeply embedded in the culture.
We're glad you found us and I'm sure you'll find a nice outlet for your thoughts here. Your English is very good, by the way.
