I've been looking forward to this film for a very, very long time. The wait is almost over. It looks simply astonishing.

I go to see this tomorrow at the IMAX in London. It is the largest screen in the country. I cannot wait. Problem is, there is a severe weather warning. We are expecting about 20cm snow tonight... Given how dependable the UK rail network is, i'm actually starting to paarp it somewhat.

I hope nothing untoword happens. I've been looking forward to Avatar for years.

I'm going with a homey of mine and little brother tonight to the midnight showing in 3-d. Then, I get to go to work at 4am. I am going to mess up my sleep cycle something fierce, but I care not.

There is a tiny chance we are getting the same train into waterloo east, if I see someone who looks like a giant triangle, I will say hi.

The 3D version is quite possibly going to change cinema, the way Star Wars and Jurassic Park did visually. It has been a long time since I left a movie with such a "wow" factor. Truly recommended.

I just watched it for the 2nd time in 3d on Xmas day with the brother and sister-in-law. As amazing and stunning as this was the first time, it was even better the 2nd time. Truly a feast for the eyes. If you think you've seen anything like it in cinematic history... Think again.

If you like movies... Please do yourself a favor and go see this movie in 3d in theaters. I really hope this kickstarts a new trend in moviemaking.

Saw Avatar on Christmas Eve day, it was great.  I'm glad we didn't get snowed into the theater though.

i caught it last week in 3-D. it is a long movie (3 hours) but not once did i lose interest in the plot or story. never once did i endure a moment of "please move on with the story." I agree with all the posts about how the visuals changed movies. but there is also a great story to the movie.

Whitney, you live in Dallas TX. how are you being snowed in? i thought it was warm down there. unlike like up here in the southern tundra that is north-da-f#ckin-koda. where the snow is up to my waist right now.

Me too, not sure if I like the 3d stuff though.  I only remember a select few parts where the 3d added to it and it took a good 15 min for my eyes to adjust to the 3d look without making me feel weird ( and I have normal eyesight).

But I agree with there not being a move on with it moment....however, I did have to leave twice to go pee
So, anyone else who might go see it, don't drink anything before or during!!!!

I was in Tulsa, Oklahoma during the winter storm.  We drove to Oklahoma City the afternoon after the "state of emergency" or as my husband is now pointing out "During the state of emergency driving in the ice for 4 hours which will be 8 hours when he tells it again later".  Needless to say, I'm not going to hear the end of it for a while (yes I kinda threw a fit when he was suggesting waiting another day to go see my family)...however, I did offer (insisted, I'm good on snow) to drive so he can't say much! (he did a good job, i was impressed)

I don't think Dallas got much snow, we got home today and I don't see any snow at all and the ground barely appears wet....I think Dallas International freaked out a bit when they closed down.

Ha ha. It's quite nice here in San Francisco. My parents in Scotland on the other hand are snowed in pretty bad. They can't leave the house. "Can't" is a strong word; I think what my Dad probably means is he can't be bothered excavating the car. They have plenty of food and coal though and electricity and phone are working. I'm so happy I moved somewhere warm =).

having never been to Scotland i will not question on their misery.
however i could not leave the house either. after excavating my truck and rediscovering my drive way and sidewalk the street was still unplowed. so driving even with 4 wheel drive is a no. lucky it was a sunny warm 15 degrees so i could walk/swim/wade through this cursed blight (snow).

my eyes where not right for at least an hour!!!!!!!! still it was worth it. the 3d added that im there in the movie feeling and experience though.
