Ok, so the other day while at Amazing Comics, I finally picked up McFarlene's Spider-man, issue number 1!!! Woo-hoo! It's the special edition also, with a holographic cover!
I've been collecting comics since I was about 8, Transformers being my first ever comic. I sold most of them recently. I kept all my Batman comics though, since he's my favorite. As for cartoons, I love Trigun, Evangelion, and Rurouni Kenshin. There are other japanese animes, but I can't think of any. Oh yeah, Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke is awesome. Spongebob too. I'll watch Family Guy if nothings on. Not really a fan of american cartoons. How about you?
I stopped collecting comic books more than 10 year ago. I still have a huge collection, but I barely read them anymore. Most books in my collection are from European origin (Belgium, the Netherlands and France), but I do have a couple of Superman, Batman and Dilbert comics as well as comics from Mad (Sergio Aragonés and Don Martin). The comics artists whom I like most are André Franquin, Jean Giraud (Moebius), Enki Bilal, Gezellig en Leuk (René Windig and Eddie de Jong), Marten Toonder and Don Martin.

I don't like comic books( except for Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert, etc.

), especially when they read like Archie.
I'm not all that into the superhero theme, either.
When I was in maybe 3rd or 4th grade, someone gave me a Spider-Man comic, and after that I was hooked for years. I've still got a box full of comic collector's cards in the basement. I suspect they'll be worth quite a bit some day.
As for anime, I didn't really discover it until high school. A friend was watching Cowboy Bebop (subs) back in maybe 2000 and I really enjoyed it. From there I got into Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo and more recently into Code Geass.
The only cartoons that I really watch now are Simpsons/Family Guy/Futurama/South Park.
Bugs Bunny....'nuff said!

I'm a huge fan of Calvin and Hobbes, i've been reading that for as long as i can remember. I am also a new fan of the watchmen.
Don Martin! Yes! Fonebone anyone?
... and Farside, Calvin and Hobbs.
Buggs and Daffy, Spongebob, Metalocalypse, ATHF, Ren and Stimpy, ... I like *way* too many cartoons (hey, it's research for my job!)
Used to collect comic books way back. Still have some early issues (spiderwoman #2).
... actually, I'm hoping to be a cartoon someday.
I've done VO for Bleach, Iron and the Maiden (from a graphic novel series), and a cartoon called Vipo the Flying Dog.
Anyone ever see this one:

(should bring a tear to your eyes if you watched cartoons in the 70's/80's)

I hear good things about Bleach, but I've not yet had a chance to get into it.

I can not stand bleach. Just like Pokemon and Yugioh, they're one of those kiddish animes that are imported to the US just to get their TV ratings up. Most of the fans are kids anyways.

It's actually much more popular in Japan. Part of "Shonen Jump" - anime created from a manga series of publications...
Can't say I watch much anime, really.

I retract this post.
I smoked it but I didn't inhale it.
Peace.
I'm a fan of the Japanese anime and manga. I used to be pretty much addicted until a few years ago, although, I do still enjoy watching and reading it.
A favorite of mine is Hellsing.
When I watch cartoons it'll be either the Simpsons, South Park, Family Guy, King of the Hill, or Futurama.
I somewhat am a fan of comic books...but not really besides Batman and X-Men.
As far as cartoon strips go I've always been a fan of: Calvin and Hobbes, Far Side and Dilbert.
I like the idea of graphic novels as a story telling medium, but I've never really gotten into one in particular. I think its just a matter of getting turned on to some decent ones...
I don't mean to offend any Manga lovers on this forum, but working at Borders I have rung up quite a few people purchasing Manga and I have made an interesting observation. I would say roughly 1 out of every 3 people I ring up for manga appear to have some form of mental disability, which is a much higher rate than any other product in our store(Including comics, and graphic Novels). I don't know why this is exactly (though I could make a guess haha), but its interesting.

...some of my favorites
Oh man I used to be such an Otaku it's not even funny. I'm ashamed to admit that I was one of Those Fantards that used Japanese and shit like that when I was like, 14. Thank fuck I grew out of that though. I still watch the odd anime and read the odd manga, but not as much as I used to. College work and Video Games replaced it. Currently the only Anime/Manga I'm Watching/Reading is Soul Eater. I looked into it to piss off a friend because he deems it stupid and I ended up liking it. I'll admit, it is stupid (people turning into weapons with names like Soul Eater Evans, Death The Kid and Black * Star what) but I have a bad habit of liking 'stupid' things so :'D
Bah, you just need to find the right graphic novels. Stuff like bleach is like quicky porn; it's good for about 20 minutes worth of kicks.
If you want some really good stuff, try "The Courageous Princess". Also, all the anime in Japan that comes over to the U.S. is aimed at kids. But there are some really good adult themed manga in Japan that you can import(though you'll have to be able to read japanese.)
And then there's the really good stuff by antarctic press, which is a small based publisher in San Antonio, Tx. They do some good stuff. Though you'll have to fish it out from the more kiddie ones.
But yeah, I highly reccomend the "Courageous Princess". It's a very good story.
I figure in this case gravedigging is OK, since this isn't a debate thread, and I won't be turning it into one. Probably I'll do with this what I've done with my Robotics thread. When I find something cool that fits the title of the thread, I'll post it here.
To answer the title question, yes, I like comic books, and I like anime and other action cartoons. I was reading Marvel and DC back in the 70's when I was a pre-teen and then a teen, and while I took breaks for years at a time, I never completely lost touch or lost interest. Lately Marvel leaves me cold, except for one character,
Gorilla Man - http://www.comicsinfinity.com/p-49428-preorder-gorilla-man-1.aspx
However, Marvel's movies excite me. Below is the trailer for
Thor, a movie I eagerly await! This will be me:
DC has sparked my interest again; in particular, Batman. I was skeptical for quite a while, but DC is clearly evolving the character and his mythos, and I like evolution.
So - Do you like comic books/anime/cartoons?

No. Not really.

I haven't read "The Courageous Princess," so I can't comment on it, but I agree with the rest completely.

Go read Hellsing. The manga and Hellsing Ultimate are the greatest things the Japanese have ever done. Besides bukkake.
