And other wacky stuff will qualify for a certificate in the UK equivalent to A-levels:

I'm British. When I moved to the US a few years ago, it was a pretty secular place. Religious belief seemed nowhere near as prevalent as here in the US. I hope that isn't changing. This program is only taught in about 50 schools according to the report. That isn't so much in a country with a population of 61 million.

I was hoping one of our Brits would comment.  I'm just afraid of the "drop by drop" addition of religion in ANY country.  Yes, it's only 50 schools... today.  What about 5 years from now?  Then it will be harder to stop, like here in the US.  And what they're teaching is WRONG.  No 2 ways about it.  Wrong.  Illogical.  Unrealisitic.  Stupid.  It should be illegal to teach nonsense like that.  (Tongue in cheek, obviously, but still...)

Also, I'm waiting for school to start here when we have to face the Prep4Kids nonsense.  I saw one of those people walking around at a local festival a few weeks ago and I REALLY wanted to "talk" to her... but the kid was with me.  He would have been mortified.

I'm not too bothred by this. According to the national census christianity has been ebbing for decades at a steady rate in the UK. Its nationwide support and appeal is currently lower than it has ever been. This might make the christian right more desperate but essentially, everything they try will be pointless. Christianity is destined for the backwaters of obselescence within the next fifty years in this country.

I doubt this curriculum will change things at all. After all, this drivel is being taught in private christian schools. It cannot be taught anywhere else because it will be met head-on by the hardened fist of education.
