Title: Conservapedia on Evolution
Post by: Heretical Rants on July 19, 2009, 05:44:04 AM
http://www.conservapedia.com/Evolution (http://www.conservapedia.com/Evolution)

Yeah, this looks credible

This isn't even the worst of their articles.

It's long, well edited, easy to read, and yet totally wrong.
This is an insult to literature.

Can we edit these mistakes? Like on Wikipedia? It'd take me a while, but I think I could clean this thing up.

They'd probably IP ban you and revert the article.

I'm not saying you can't try :P

Its been tried before. You'll be banned before you can say "you are distorting science, logic and common sense."

These guys know a lot about them: http://rationalwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page (http://rationalwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page)

From what I understand the evolution article has been locked and if you edit ANY article outside of their extremly narrow VERY consevative point of view or disagree with anyone they will not only ban you they will do a mass ip ban so you can't reset it and come back (that's 10,000s of IPs including ones that are used by people who genuinly are trying to use the site). It's not an encylopedia site it's a poster site for christian censoring of anything even remotely not word for word of the bible or young earth-centric. It's probably one of the most biased sites on the internet. Peple ike these make me sick to my stomace when I think about future of the human race.

It is my opinion that conservapedia.com is an attempt to gather the greatest possible amount of stupid into one site on the internet with the sole purpose to discover if it collapses in upon itself and generates a singularity. What other value that collection of apocrypha, lies, fabrications, magical thinking, and make-believe has I can not say.

Perfect. I propose that we all make sweeping corrections to conservapedia. The short term result will be corrections to lies and the long term result will be tens of thousands of people unable to see the hateful and ignorant website.

I think you're underestimating the gullibility of the religious, SSY.

Anywyas these articles are actually quite funny. Do searches on Atheism, Homosexuality, Barack Obama and Richard Dawkins. There's even one on the bias of wikipedia. lol Even though this website's slogan is "An encyclopedia with a conservative viewpoint".

QuoteWikipedia is a self-described[1] online encyclopedia project founded by entrepreneur and atheist Jimmy Wales and philosophy professor Larry Sanger on January 15, 2001 and usually edited by unemployed liberal community college dropouts

QuoteIt ignores its own NPOV policy when it allows contributors to "delete well-referenced information" merely because it comes from a scientist who holds a minority view.

I wonder what point of view they are talking about?

then they ruin the Cash

QuoteHis marriage to June Carter Cash marked a turnaround in his career. He rededicated his life to Jesus Christ, got off drugs, and recorded two very popular albums, At Folsom Prison (1968) and At San Quentin (1969) both recorded live before prison audiences. Many of the prisoners were deeply moved by his testimony and accepted Christ as their Savior.[1]

I'd rather keep them writing their "trustworthy" stuff in their own website than flooding Wikipedia with all this nonsense.
