Title: Hi there...
Post by: proudatheist on July 14, 2009, 12:04:27 AM
Live from Eugene, Oregon.

Raised by very scared, very secluded, very angry Christian parents who taught me the importance of education, reason and individuality as they pertain to Christianity. I pretty much gave up on that last part when I made the choice to be gay and THE CHURCH would no longer have me. It was a tough decision, you guys! All this back-and-forth between whether or not I get into heaven or am sent to hell. In the end, however, I discovered the Realm of Profound Absurdity and saw that Christianity had a huge city there! One of the biggest, even! While I was proud they could entrench themselves so firmly in such a place, it wasn't to my liking. All those tacky clothes and ostentatious decorations didn't appeal to my gay sensibilities, you see.

Happy to say the 'rents have eased up a lot. Love me, my partner, left their GOD awful church... now to just get them to stop watching Bill O'Reilly...

Glad to be another voice in the growing cacophony of reasoned voices.

;) We'd be happy to have ya, and you gotta admit, orange is much better than yellow and green (and black and white and purple and red and truck bed liner and feathers and whatever other colors and patterns they're using these days). ;)

Anyway, happy to have another Oregonian on the site. We're multiplying. Welcome to the forum proudatheist.
