Title: Amusing Child Speak
Post by: Kylyssa on June 23, 2009, 04:35:40 AM
Yesterday, while we were eating with my partner's sort of kids one of them mentioned the word abstinence.  He said that he thought it was a religious thing and it meant you don't believe in god.

I was amused.

I was a child when I was their age.

Oh the memories... there was one time in Catechism Camp when I sneaked into the priest's cabin and ate all the Jesus wafers. It was awesome.

I remember, maybe when I was about 10, being convinced that inanimate objects like rocks must be conscious (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animism). Lol.

The other day at my extended family's father's day get together, grandpa had us all stand up to hold hands and say "grace." One of my cousins (who is only 7 years old) looks up at his dad and says "I don't think god cares if we pray. I'm hungry."

I was laughing all alone.  roflol
