Yesterday, while we were eating with my partner's sort of kids one of them mentioned the word abstinence. He said that he thought it was a religious thing and it meant you don't believe in god.
I was amused.
I was a child when I was their age.
Oh the memories... there was one time in Catechism Camp when I sneaked into the priest's cabin and ate all the Jesus wafers. It was awesome.
I remember, maybe when I was about 10, being convinced that inanimate objects like rocks must be conscious (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Animism). Lol.

The other day at my extended family's father's day get together, grandpa had us all stand up to hold hands and say "grace." One of my cousins (who is only 7 years old) looks up at his dad and says "I don't think god cares if we pray. I'm hungry."
I was laughing all alone.
