So here is yet another small quandary I'm facing.
I have a certain style. I shop at places like Buckle. That's just me. I started buying a brand of clothing called Sanctify over a year ago. I really didn't think much about their name because all those trendy shirt companies have names like that (Archaic, Filter, Aqua VI, Affliction, Jedidiah, Inner Sanctum, etc.) But when Buckle started to cut back on Sanctify shirts I went to their site (to find more) and saw it was a Christian clothing company!
From their site:
http://www.sanctifyclothing.com/Images/layout/about_us_content_full.jpg
Sample shirt from Sanctify Clothing:
(https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sanctifyclothing.com%2Fimages%2Fscy5146.jpg&hash=b9ee4f7100dc3d732c08859e736a36bcdd67b256)
I know, I know... Jesus on a shirt. How could I not know it was a Christian brand...
Here is another sample:
(https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sanctifyclothing.com%2Fimages%2Fscy513.jpg&hash=db75cd156180a67986930c0edfd0a2bb620bc07c)
See what I mean?
But I have to say I really like the styles. I'm the kind of person that can appreciate the beauty in the iconography of all religions.
So my question is: As atheists, freethinkers and agnostics would you wear a shirt from a company that was openly Christian despite your beliefs? Or is it just another form of hypocrisy? Sample shirt from Atheist Apparel:

Great message for a shirt. Better than "I'm with stupid" I suppose.
Being hypocritical for an atheist is entirely subjective. I wouldn't think twice about seeing an atheist in a vaguely religious shirt. It's just a shirt.
Eh... who cares what people think? If you like the shirts keep wearing them.
I wouldn't care so much - but if I saw you wearing the shirt with the jesus on a cross pic, I might think "Oh there goes another nutter"
Quote from: "BadPoison"I wouldn't care so much - but if I saw you wearing the shirt with the jesus on a cross pic, I might think "Oh there goes another nutter"
Funny you mention that. All the so-called Christians in my office always compliment the shirts. I squirm a little every time they do. They must think I'm one of them.
Quote from: "Sophus"Eh... who cares what people think? If you like the shirts keep wearing them.
I'll second that!
Hey, my wife is not religious at all, but she still thinks the older churches and some of the music are quite beautiful.
Doesn't mean she agrees with the rest of it.
The only reason I can think of to avoid buying something I like is if the money went to a cause I was really against.
Ya know, like buying something from the Nazi Gift Shoppe...

It really just depends on how you feel about it. I go to craft stores. Hobby Lobby is a very Christian company (they own Mardel the Christian office supply store). I know that Mardel has questionable hiring practices (I knew people in high school who were not hired there from not being christian enough...the way they explained it). So, when possible, I do not go to Hobby Lobby to buy things. However, I had to buy stuff there when I was in college because the town didn't have any other options for some supplies and I couldn't afford the time necessary for shipping it in from somewhere else.
Btw, I've seen that style of shirt at the Lucky Brands store as well as in places like Macys juniors dept. So if you like the style but decide you don't want to buy from that company, there are other options. I saw some shirts like that at Target too in the young men's department...a t-shirt is a t-shirt, so it doesn't matter what gender it is for unless you want it to be fitted. I like the style too it's dark, elegant, and fun all at the same time.
This is along the same lines as why I won't eat Chick-Fil-A.

I'm not as bothered by them as I am Hobby Lobby/Mardel since I have not yet heard about them having bad hiring practices. I just prefer not to give money to Christian businesses or organizations.
edit: Even as a Christian, I tended to assume any company which advertises themselves as a Christian company had some poor ethical practices they were trying to hide.

I'm really not all that impressed by their food to begin with. Plus, there isn't one in town, and the only time we can get away to have it is on, you guessed it, Sunday. Lazy ass Christians taking a day off just cause their god did... I swear, I should complain to the Better Business Bureau.

I just like Chick-Fil-A and never make the connection that they are a conservative company until Sunday afternoon when I'm looking for some nuggets.
Also there is a Chick-Fil-A just down the street and a Hooters on the other side. Somehow morality is added into the equation when choosing what to get. Do I go for the nuggets served by the Christian food chain or get some wings at the place with the scantily dressed women? My wife (more agnostic than anything) would probably have me choose the former.

Who said Atheists have no morality? Oh wait the Christians did. (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffc00.deviantart.com%2Ffs23%2Ff%2F2007%2F348%2Fa%2Ff%2F_P_rvmp_by_bad_blood.gif&hash=f4cd36f17bd59200344ffb1cfd6ea0846866a21f)
I'll just try not to order some nuggets while wearing my Sanctify shirt... (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ffc09.deviantart.com%2Ffs18%2Ff%2F2007%2F185%2F1%2F1%2F_D_rvmp_by_bad_blood.gif&hash=9ad424f407e6116a7181991f84f465009f4aebdb)

Hobby Lobby is no picnic to work for, either. My mom used to work there and was treated like crap. (Could have just been her manager, though.) I always chuckle darkly when I read the signs on their doors advertising: "now hiring good people." I always add "to undermine and demoralize."
Wow. I had no idea about Hobby Lobby. But there are none on the south side, so I buy my arts and crafts from small art stores.
Anyway, If I liked the christian shirt, I would definitely buy it. But I would make sure each time some one compliments me on it, I'd say "Are you an atheist too?"
Just to see the look on their ugly little smut faces.
Here is another Sanctify shirt that I recently bought that only sort of alludes to it being a Christian brand:

I just like the "I have overcome the world" quote on the back.
Those shirts, especially the last one you posted, are like contemporary christian music. When I flip around on the radio during the nonsense talking in the mornings sometimes I land on christain stations without realizing it (until they say he to many times or something) and they are jammin' :D
Dang, maybe if atheists had shirts like that we'd be more popular.

I was thinking the same thing. I would definitely wear Athiest Apparels clothing if it were better. They have a neat little logo but they lost me with their collection.

They have a "He's not the messiah; he's a very naughty boy!" shirt that I off-handedly remarked would be a great mug. They're making it a mug now.
At least they listen to their customers.

See that would make for a very nice shirt. Throw in some trendy graphics and a cool font for the quote and I'm all for it. I once saw a pic of the Virgin Mary that I would love to see on a shirt...
Pretty much NSFW

I would so wear that. Needs a different background though.
Here is a shirt by Archaic... from what I understand they are not a Christian brand

I'm bookmarking that.

I HATE that chick-fil-a is closed on sunday! Sunday's are generally lazy days around my house, and i would always say (before I knew they were a christian company) "let's go get some chick-fil-a" and people always said they were closed...i was like WTF! but i want chicken noW!
haha I rarely go though because it's basically fast food for rich people

Some of these look like the sanctify style yet are atheist oriented.
