I enjoy digital art and was thinking I might as well try to sell anything I create. Has anyone ever sold their artwork online or bought digital art online? If so, can you suggest a website? I know there are plenty of options out there but I value the opinions of everyone here on which would be the best.
I have my own arch/graphics website, but it isn't going to be the place to post artwork for sale till it gets indexed.

If your looking for quickie, the forums at DeviantArt aren't bad, there are some pretty talented guys there though so It isn't easy.
I have landed a few bucks here and there from contests but selling artwork is something else entirely. What type of art are you selling? DA is always a fantastic place to start.

I would suggest deviantart too
also, I heard that zazzle is good, you can sell postcards, posters and t shirt versions of your artwork there

Depends on the type of thing you're selling.
dA is good if you want to have a "store" of sorts for people to browse, where you can place high quality, polished products and sell at (relatively) high prices.
I use Fotki (as evident by the URL of every image I post here
) to sell the photography I do. If you're just looking to sell prints of nearly any size (up to 30x40) and have complete control over the prices, how much you'll make, and who can see what, I'd go with them. I pay ~$20/year for the premium service, which gives me unlimited storage space and just about any option you can think of. When I last did food photography for a local restaurant, I uploaded the images to a password-secured folder in my Fotki account, gave them the link and the password, and said, "Order whatever you like, whenever you like, as often as you like." They seemed to be happy with the freedom it offered them.
Then again, jcm makes a good point, if you're just trying to make some money rather than really push a "brand", you may want to start selling stock photography. Just grab a couple magazines, find advertisements, and beg, borrow and steal. Whatever you do, don't use the stock photography on deviantART as a template. Those are mostly just attention whores who love taking pictures of themselves in front of a white sheet. ("Dude, we don't need 300 pictures of you naked standing in 'elf' poses. I promise.")

They buy and sell photos and illustrations.
Pretty big - they also have affiliate sites you could look into (on the affiliates page).
They have an office just down the road from me in South Pasadena...

Don't know so much about illustrations and artwork, but I use SmugMug to sell photos. DeviantArt is the only thing that comes to mind right now.

I think i'm going to go with deviantART and CafePress. The other sites mentioned will be good if I do some vector based graphics for use by other designers.
