Title: Breaking The Spell...D Dennett
Post by: twinleaf on April 10, 2009, 06:01:12 AM
So, I'm curious. I've just started reading this book and the beginning is throwing me off a little. I guess it's just the writing style, not what I'm used to. Anyhow, wondering if anyone here has read it. And if it's worth the read.

I have not read it, but I've seen many people suggest it on various forums.

I just finished Breaking the Spell.  Dennett is a little hard to read, but I found the topic worth my effort.  Basically he suggests that there is evidence to support the theory that there are biolgical reasons for humans to invent/believe in
god(s) and that more research is necessary to prove the theory.

Like I said, I found it worth reading.  Let me know if you decide to forge ahead what you think if/when you finish, twinleaf.
