Thanks for the warm welcome. I had to laugh at the list of what not to do list. After all, I signed up just so I can use Psalm 14:1! ;-) j/k, actually I never really even paid attention to that verse till now. So thanks!
Pleased to meet you - hope to have some good conversations ;-)
Cheers,

first I had heard of it actually
Well remember, the Bible is claiming to be the truth weather you believe it or not. So since the scripture declares as a matter of fact that God exist, technically it then really does become foolish to deny His existence.

Hi Man-ofGod. Welcome to HAF.
In the thread about the atheist stance being too strong you mentioned that you use to be an atheist. Would you mind sharing if you were raised non-religious or not? I am curious as to if you were an atheists because you were not taught to believe or if you were converted as a childen, "backslid", then converted again. Also, what is an atheist to you?
If you were a reasoned atheist and have since converted to Christianity...you will be the first of that kind have met and I'll expect that you must have some really new things to share with us since you would know our views as well as we do.

Not at all. I did go to a Catholic school for "quality education" for the first 8 years of my school career but generally thought it was a crock. My family is extremely secular and My sister and I were primarily Atheist (she still is). Think my dad was more like a deist but really did not comment too much on it. On top of that I lived in a very secular community in long island NY.
Frankly, I could of went my whole life probably w/ out knowing about Christ and been contempt.

Ok, so you weren't atheist because you were convinced by the arguments against religion. You were atheist because you were not brought up to follow a religion. Right?

And to answer your last question, an Atheist to me was just someone that does not believe in a God. My basic philosophy was "seeing is believing"
Thanks..now I have a better understand of where you are coming from.

I just want to add a little to your previous post. I was against organized religion, but this was a byproduct of my Atheism, not so much the root cause of my Atheism. Its not because I was raised to think like that, that is just what made sense to me at the time.
