Why I Think Christian Fundamentalists Hate the Theory of Evolution but Not Other Scientific Facts (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1491362/why_i_think_christian_fundamentalists.html?cat=4)
And yes, I pull my punches.
Don't think I've ever thought about it that way, but it does seem a reasonable explination. "Vanity thy name is Genesis".
Glad you were aimed at fundies and literalists. Right around Darwin day there was an excellent editorial in our local paper by a lib mainstream rev. His 2 points: 1.If God did everything, he did evolution. 2.There are two realms; reality and faith. We must recognize reality and separate it from faith. Believers have faith.
I respect the sane religious who don't twist reality and present all sorts of faux proofs to "prove" their junk; who instead admit that the true meaning of faith is that no proof is needed; that in fact faux science and efforts to argue and prove "that this 'n' that" really happened " is anthetical to the concept of faith.
Even so, faith is a bug I have not contracted and do not expect to.
