Title: The Urantia Book
Post by: curiosityandthecat on February 15, 2009, 08:05:47 PM
Figure ihateyoumike might be right and the Urantia Book could use its own thread.

Interesting, although the first video worked my nerves about 2 seconds in and I only made it to the Jesus part of the second.  It's not any harder to believe than the bible.

What happened to the enlightenment? It seems to have gotten derailed. I blame post-modernism! Joking.

The antidote:

QuoteForward, oh sublime army of progress, forward until law is justice, forward until ignorance is unknown, forward while there is a spiritual or temporal throne, forward until superstition is a forgotten dream, forward until the world is free, forward until human reason, clothed in the purple of authority, is king of kings.

-- Robert Ingersoll, American agnostic

Quote from: "curiosityandthecat"Just a quote from the book/film. :)

Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow
down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world
hunger. But we can't ignore our social needs, either. We
have to stop people from abusing the welfare system. We
have to provide food and shelter for the homeless and
oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights while
also promoting equal rights for women but change the
abortion laws to protect the right to life yet still
somehow maintain women's freedom of choice.

We also have to control the influx of illegal
immigrants. We have to encourage a return to traditional
moral values and curb graphic sex and violence on TV, in
movies, in pop music, everywhere. Most importantly we have
to promote general social concern and less materialism in
young people.
