Came across this forum and been following it for a while, now i decided to involve.
Well I guess i should give now something about my background:
Male, mid 20s, from Spain, so first of all sorry about my English, it sucks sometimes. As i read this forum is open to anyone anywhere, i find it useful if people from different parts of the world can share views, stories, news and all that stuff. Raised in one of the most oppressive cults within christianism: catholicism. You know, religious school with priests and so on. Although i didn't have to go through such duress/abuses as others in my country had to, just a few swings from the priests now and then when i was naughty and the typical psychological and brainwashing stuff you can imagine.
Then as one grows up, reading + interest in science + big mouth makes you get into trouble sometimes!
Now finishing science studies and working as a researcher in physical chemistry, also have got jobs as a warehouse worker and nightclub bouncer. So as you can imagine my views on religion and superstition in general are - or at least i try to - aborded in a rational way, although sometimes i get really furious about the church you know, "fuego latino" (whatever, cheap joke here)
As a curiosity, I have a bunch of American (US) relatives, as an aunt of mine fled from Spain during the fascist regime. Mostly resident in Texas and New Orleans.
Nothing more i guess, just say I spotted some folks here that seem to be quite nice people so it'd be a pleasure to debate things.
Salud!
