I actually do think that the overall popularity of House will open doors for atheists to be more open about their views.  The masses let their shows tell them what is okay and House is saying it is okay to be an athiest.  Plus Cameron is also an atheist; so even if people think House is an ass she is meant to portray a very caring person who also happens to be a non-believer.

BTW, who else saw the episode where House convinced that couple they had an immaculate conception? I've not laughed that hard for years.

the one problem i have with the show House is trying to watch it while i'm eating dinner.

That was hilarious! And the explanation was completely scientific of course, they didn't get it and he had to explain in terms they could understand, hehe, too funny!

I love House and all but I must have seen each episode at least a dozen times. It's on every day.
