Title: Happy Chinese New Year!
Post by: curiosityandthecat on January 25, 2009, 06:44:35 PM
Just wanted to say æ–°å¹´å¿«æ¨, (xÄ«n nián kuài lè - Happy New Year) to everyone! If you know any Chinese, I've made a red envelope that you can print out, put some money in (eight dollars, or eight quarters, something like that.. just stay away from four of something as the word for four å›› sounds the same as the word for death æ», and is considered very unlucky).

This is the year of the 牛, the Ox (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ox_(zodiac)). Here's some information about the Chinese zodiac (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_zodiac), in case you're wondering what your birth year is! (Mine is the cock, if you'd believe that.  :D )

My Chinese zodiac sign is the Rabbit... and we all know what rabbits do.

QuoteRabbit: Gracious, kind, sensitive, soft-spoken, amiable, elegant, reserved, cautious, artistic, thorough, tender, self-assured, astute, compassionate, flexible. Can be moody, detached, superficial, self-indulgent, opportunistic, lazy, horny.

Awww.. horny.  :P

I like that episode of The Simpsons where Homer was in the middle of a war-game and he just remembered that it is Chinese New year. Lol, and so he shot up some flares and was saying something in Chinese, something like "gung hey fat choy!"

Happy Chinese New Year!
